    Now that we are back to playing the AL, it seems that Francona is intent on finishing the game with the same lineup that he started with. Why isn't he PHing for Cora in a 1 run game in the 7th with 2 out and 1 on?

    The Yankees, afterall are such a classy organization-- a model for other franchises. They looked the other way as their teams in the 90's turned the clubhouse into a roid den. And they openly honored and celebrated a fan who illegally interfered with the field of play to give the Yankees an advantage. That sent a wonderful message to the fans. It's okay to interfere with the game if it helps the home team. Yes, the honoring of Jeffrey Maeir was very classy.

    Maybe you are right, but in the mean time it will help the lineup if they move him down.

    I agree. They need to set the table at the top of the lineup and Jacoby is not getting it done. Drop him in the order and take some of the pressure off him.

    I realize that Tito didn't have much of a choice and I am not saying that Lopez doesn't serve a useful purpose. They are just not the guys that I wanted to see in the game tonight. The Rays had the advantage tonight.

    That was a crazy play. I knew that the kid hit it high. Why not PH here for Varitek?

    They are just not the three guys that I would have wanted to see pitch in the first game of a series against the first place team when they have the ace going. To me Lopez has always been a garbage time pitcher. Chris Smith is a green minor leaguer at best, and Masterson was a kid that was up for a spot start and now has a rotation spot.

    They are playing like *******s right now. But seriously... Masterson, Chris Smith and Lopez. Is this what a championship team is made of?

    If Ellsbury was not pulling a Varitek, Pedroia would have had about 15 RBI last week.
