  1. I don’t lump all of the starters together and conclude that they are not getting it done. We need a 5th starter and Porcello needs to get straightened out. Price is fine. He is not a problem. ERod is going deep into games more often than ever before. Sale has been the victim of lack of support, bad defense and the bullpen losing 5 quality starts. In two of those games he gave up 1 run. One was a 1-0 loss. In another game he struck out an unbelievable 17 batters and they managed to lose that game. Other than those quality starts, he gave up 4 runs against the wrecking ball Yankees offense, and our offense answered with 0 runs. These were all games where he did the job and he was spectacular in 3 or 4 of those games and his team found a way to lose. Sale is not a problem and doesn’t need to step up. Part of the reason that Sale and Price are not going deep often enough is that Cora is saving them for a post season that may never come. Even if these guys go deep more often, it will not cure this undermanned bullpen which only has 2/3 major league arms— Barnes (who has been awful), Workman and possibly Brasier. This bullpen needs fixing or we will never get on a sustained winning path, because they are too unreliable and will blow games where the starters put up quality starts. Here’s a message for DD. Yes, we desperately need a #5 if you put Eovaldi in the pen, but it is the bullpen stupid! That is the problem.
  2. It's a bore. Now, after so many years of inter-league play, I don't even care about the game.
  3. That's the scuttlebutt in NY.
  4. So, I am not the only one.
  5. LOL! It almost entirely attributable to organizational incompetence.
  6. ERod's innings through the 1st 3 months are up 10 over last year. Price's innings are down due to a DL stint and Cora pampering. Sale is also being pampered. If people object to the word pampered, maybe "preserved" is a better word. Cora needs to start riding those horses.
  7. Yep, damn the auto correct. It should have read as follows: Miggy has been acting like a psycho this season. When he is not yucking it up as his team is getting plastered, he is unable to control his anger over balls and strikes. The guy seems unstable. To bad, because he was such a consistently excellent player for many years.
  8. And sometimes it sticks to the bottom of your shoe and it smells.
  9. The Mets in recent years have not been getting anyone of value when they dump their expiring players. I'd rather have Bum, but Wheeler would do.
  10. That is mainly because the 5th spot has been a black hole and Porcello, normall an innings eater, is pitching terribly.
  11. ERod is going deeper into games more often this season than in the past. His last outing was limited to 5 innings by a 2 hour rain delay. He was well on his way to another 6+ inning outing. Cora needs to stop pampering Price and let him go deeper when he is pitching well and getting outs. Porcello’s problem is not that he isn’t going deep into games, but rather that he sucks this year.
  12. Did Cora say why he took out Price after the 5th inning — pitch count, he was gassed, resting him for later in the season, or something else?
  13. And you missed mine. Irreconcilable differences?
  14. Yeah, and I log on here to enjoy your sense of humor.
  15. Radio announcer said “he gone!” on Tiger’s 3rd out in the 6th.
  16. Or is Cora holding him back?
  17. Tighten your seatbelts. We will get 4 bullpen innings today at a minimum.
  18. Cora has been babying him. I am not sure when he is going to decide to ride this horse, but handing anything less than a 10 run lead to the bullpen for 4 innings is foolish. Price should be pushed to 120 pitches today. He will not pitch for 6 days after today.
  19. Yep, you are right about that. Luckily, Cora didn’t employ Farrell’s 7 run rule.
  20. No twisting. I simply asked him a question. You can see the question mark. I would think he was nervous over the last 3 innings.
  21. So, you thought the game was well in hand in the late innings, not nervous at all?
  22. He’s been a disaster. He looks like 2015 Porcello.
