    We are playing the Dodgers this weekend. They have been in the WS 2 years in a row and they are the best team in baseball this season. If we don't lose ground to Tampa or the Yankees, that would be a big success.

    The crisis of lack of talent is in the bullpen. It would help if some of the hitters like Betts, Benintendi, and maybe even JD would play better, but is anyone really worried about them or thinking that we could improve by trading them. It would also help if the starters went deeper into games, but does anyone feel bad about our chances when Sale or Price or even ERod takes the mound. I don’t. Porcello makes me nervous and needs fixing. He is not mediocre or just a little off his game. He has been horrible. He has been slightly better than the black hole in the 5th slot. The the big pain points are the bullpen, the 5th rotation slot and Porcello. Bitch and moan all you want about the top 3 starters, but they are not the reason why we are 10 games back in the loss column. Sale should be 7-3 instead of 3-7. The other 2 guys have also lost wins because of the pen.

    I wouldn’t count on seeing the sustained 99-100 from him anytime soon. I think he could make the same adjustment as he did last season, but I think that led to his shoulder issue. He can be dominating at 94/95, but the stretch last season before then All Star break was other worldly and it wasn’t his norm either. In any even, I am not worried about him unless he gets hurt. He has been fine since May1st. But for lack of support, bad defense and a crappy bullpen his won -loss record would be the reverse of what it is.

His uptick to 99-100 last year was the result of a mechanical adjustment and that was well above his norm. It was probably not sustainable over a full season resulting in is arm problems late last year. His velocity last April wasn't that far off his norms.

    F He was 89-91 in some of those April games. Still not sure what point that you are trying to make — that the slow ramp up was not a factor and that Sale sucks or is injured? What is your point? Oh, I forgot. Your point is to be contrary and poke holes in my posts. What a pointless existence.
