  1. i think Moon was referring to statistical integrity. He was not challenging your cynicism.
  2. Yep, then you have them pegged.
  3. Yeah, we agree on that. I never said anything different about him.
  4. I didn't see that anyone was blaming the pen for today's loss. Cashener got booed off the mound. I thought your post was dick-ish.
  5. You clearly don't understand Yankee fans. They are gracious losers and obnoxious winners.
  6. The bullpen stinks. I am glad that it makes you happy that the starters stink too. Cashner can be thrown in the Dumpster on October 1st or sooner imo. Porcello should be given a cake and a big goodbye card. He has had 3 atrocious seasons, 1 meh season and 1 stellar season. I don't expect that he will improve. For $22.5 million/yr, DD can do better.
  7. Could signing him hurt?
  8. It certainly looks like they have quit.
  9. He did the wrong thing to get the point where continuing it wound be the right thing. It;s only a matter of time before he is speaking Farrell-ese.
  10. Last season everything worked perfectly. This season has been challenging, and Cora has not met the challenge. This team has too much talent to be this far out of a playoff spot playing so poorly at home. The Mets' manager Callaway was exposed as a buffoon last season, but this latest winning streak of 15 of 16 has some people thinking that he knows what he is doing. He does not. He is still a buffoon like he was last season. Maybe Cora has been a buffoon all along too.
  11. Barnes is one of our 2 major leagubullpen arms and I wouldn’t care if he left.
  12. And his performance doesn’t even justify the $1 million.
  13. For DD finding any good options in the pen is difficult.
  14. We have 2 major league arms in our bullpen, Workman and Barnes, and I would not be upset over losing either one next season.
  15. In his 5 seasons with the Red Sox, Porcello has had 3 atrociously bad seasons, 1 meh season, and 1 stellar season. Overall, he benefited from his contract more than the Red Sox have at $22.5 million/yr.
  16. Like the rest of our bullpen, he is a AAA arm.
  17. Cashner was a trash heap acquisition. Next step for him after the Red Sox is the dumpster. The guy sucks.
  18. After Sam Travis batted cleanup yesterday, this doesn’t surprise me. Another stupid Cora move.
  19. There is usually a rationale for stupidity. Without a rationale, it would be insanity or mindless neglect. His managing yesterday was stupid on multiple fronts despite the rationales.
  20. Cora engaged in a lot of stupidity tonight from benching Devers the game after he rediscovered his stroke to batting Sam Travis cleanup. WTF! Sending out Darwinzon for a second inning was more stupidity. He’s a one inning guy if you are lucky. As soon as he loses his arm slot, he needs to be pulled or he will walk the ballpark and he did. Then he brings in neck tat to get out of a tight spot in the late innings of a competitive game. Cora should just forfeit those games that he is going to wreck with his stupidity. At least, everyone would get a rest. Oh, and Sam Travis in LF. WTF is he thinking. I guess that he has given up.
  21. Price DL'd with a wrist injury. David Price placed on injured list WWW.MLB.COM BOSTON -- The Red Sox will make yet another adjustment to their pitching rotation after David Price was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday, retroactive to Monday, with a left wrist injury. The lefty had been experiencing tightness in his wrist and underwent an MRI to address the
  22. 7 run rule. Put Sale, Price and ERod in a hyperbaric chamber until February 15th. Throw the bullpen until their arms fall off and then release them and start over next season with a new pen.
  23. The super ball plays a part in all of this. The Red Sox roster was one that was built for speed and defense just as much as it was built for bashing. This season in MLB speed and defense seem to have no role. It's pure bashing.
  24. The fact that the pen was expected to suck is not an excuse. It was the one hopeless blackhole of failure on the team that had no hope of success. That is on DD. The pen had zero prospect of being adequate... none. Eovaldi got injured (really our only significant injury). That was snowballed by a complete lack of depth inthe rotation -- DD's fault. Porcello has had a horrible year. Price and ERod have been good and reliable. The attempt to save Sale's bullets killed his April and has done nothing to stave off his second half deterioration. He has looked awful since the calendar turned to July. I am concerned that the health of his arm is an issue.
