    You really are not reading my posts. I said that my stance on getting Halladay and what should be offered for him has changed since we didn't get him at the trading deadline in July. One and a half years and two post seasons versus one year is a big difference. I have openly discussed my position on this.

    My expectations that Lester was a couple of years away was right on target in spring training 2006, as he turned the corner in May 2008. When did I opine on Youkilis when he was a prospect?

    I shot myself in the foot, because I wasn't willing to agree that the corner that he turned was the road to stardom. He may be just be a solid average pitcher. We just don't know yet. Speaking of being clear. Are you saying that you wouldn't trade Buchholz for Halladay under any circumstances? I think that's what you said, but I won't put words in your mouth as you so often do with me. Also, you said that you don't want halladay for $20 million/year. If the Sox got him for someone other than Buchholz, what would you consider a reasonable extension. Please be specific about length and amount. I have been very specific.

    I tire of the question, which people raise because I disagree with people about player moves and philosophy. I thought that crap (you should be a Yankee fan stuff) stopped in 2007 when we spent over $200 milion on 3 players, won a World Championship and we were all happy. No one felt like Yankees. We still hated them.. right? It felt great to beat them... right? My response was detailed and passionate, because you said that you were serious when you asked the question. You said that you wanted to understand me. Would a simple " I'm not a closet Yankee fan" with a smiley have added to your understanding. I thought if you knew that I follow the team up and down the coast and that I attend events like HOF inductions that you would get a better understanding. I guess you didn't want to learn more about me, but you just wanted to tweak me. In that case, now that I understand wher you are coming from: I'm not a closet Yankee fan:D

    I'd go for the Halladay for Buchholz trade with an extension. I think a reasonable extension would be around 3 years/ $60 million with options and buyouts afterward. Clear enough.

    Back this up with any posts about Buchholz. Otherwise, stop with your misrepresentations of my opinion. My opinion about Buchholz is that because is so close to being a contributor that the deal would have to be very good.

    I am disappointed that you have resulted to this. I don't root for teams because of their FO. Do you? I have attended more Red Sox games at Fenway, Ft. Myers, Philadelphia, NY, and Miami than most Sox fans could ever dream about. I went to Cooperstown to see Yaz and Rice get inducted. Are you seriously questioning my fandom? Ridiculous. Perhaps you haven't noticed how I don't cut an inch of slack to the Yankees or their fans. So, let me get this straight. Because I want my team to win and beat the Yankees, that means that I should root for the Yankees? Really? You have just discredited yourself.

Are you saying that it would be a bad move for the Sox to get Roy Halladay? I think that it depends on the deal. I know that is not clear to you, but I'll let you make the flat out declaration. Roy Halladay on the Sox... good or bad? Please be clear.

    I termed his 2009 as encouraging, but with mixed results. It was encouraging because it was a step forward from his 2008 suck. It was mixed, because it was league average. I have also posted several times that he is at a cross-roads year. This is the year he needs to take his game to the next level. I challenge you to find a single post where I am advocating trading Buchholz for 1 year of Halladay or even a long term big money contract with Halladay. Is that clear enough for you...Champ?

    None of the examples were relevant as none of those stats are indicative of anything about Buchholz. It's too bad that you can't see that.

    You didn't even manage to do that as the pitchers that you picked, except for Carpenter, were 24 years old between 20 and 50 years ago. As you have so often told me, the game has changed since then. Those stats aren't even relevant in your pissing contest with Gom, which he baited you into and he's been playing with you like a cat with a mouse as you get more and more mad.

    Gom's examples were equally as pointless. I am sorry that I didn't mention that before. The whole exchange of stats of players from years gone by was pointless and irrelevant. Neither set of examples prove anything in either direction. Gom, posts s*** like that to get under our skin. You usually stick to relevant stats that support an argument. I am surprised that you willingly went down Gom's path of irrelevancy.

    Oh, saying that my post is "one of the most ignorant things that have said" is not a personal attack? That's an interesting spin. If you are going to call a post ignorant, you should back it up. Please tell me how developmental stats of star pitchers who came to the majors more than 50 years ago are relevant to Buchholz's development. So you say that I don't like stats? A bit of a generalization, don't you think?

    Since this story broke, I haven't once supported in a single post that the Red Sox should A. trade Buchholz for Halladay or B. Pay Halladay $20 million/year for 6 years. So I have to keep taking off the "Halladay Fanboy" glasses off because you keep sticking them on my face. Why don't you just address yourself to my actual statements instead of telling me what you think my unstated opinion is... huh Champ. I am just saying that there has been no sign of wear and tear in his performance. Has there been, Champ? Second, I said that you never know with a pitcher. His next pitch could be his last. Do you dispute that...Champ? That's why teams need good Doctors to examine these guys before a substantial investment is made. Could you possibly disagree with that, Champ?

    Yes, of course, Bob Gibson's and Sandy koufax's rate of development are precursors of Buchholz's stardom and success.:dunno:
