Iglesias will have to prove that he can do something with the bat. If Lowrie stays healthy in 2011, he'll be the 2012 starter with Iglesias as the backup, until he can prove that he can hit. If Lowrie becomes an offensive force, it could be tough for Iglesias to take the spot. He might become the trade bait.

Warm weather hitter and he's been facing a lot of lefties. The good news is that he has been holding his own against lefties so far.

Pitcher torturing is looking good so far today. As Papi used to say after going hitless for a couple of days: "somebody's going to pay." Reyes may pay big time for the teams' slow start.

Lowrie's only negative is that he really doesn't run well.

Gammons made a good point about Crawford batting 6th. He said that his speed would be better utilized for run production by stealing bases in front of the singles hitters at the bottom of the order instead of in front of the HR hitters.

Lowrie is scalding the ball from the right side. I said in the off season that I believed that Lowrie could hit his way to starting status during the season. It may happen much sooner than I thought it would. Scutaro has gotten some big hits too, so Francona will be reluctant to bench him.
