  1. Walks coming back to haunt Bedard.
  2. That's as far as I have seen a bat thrown into the stands.
  3. Great thinking Bedard. Walk two guys to start the inning in front of Hamilton.
  4. He's not a better hitter than Crawford and it's not like he is hot right now.
  5. Lead off walks are never good.
  6. WTH is Lowrie batting ahead of Crawford?
  7. Let's get it going in the 1st inning. Send Ellsbury here.
  8. The OF will be an issue if we get to the WS. With Ortiz out of the lineup, we're screwed. There are other professional OF bats other than Beltran and Pence that could've been pursued. The Phillies have been coming up big at the Deadline the last several years. We can't use the excuse that many like to use when the Yankees eat our lunch-- that they have unlimited funds.
  9. But we know that Ortiz can make the routine plays at 1B. We don't know if AGon can make those plays in RF.
  10. I never understood why they didn't bring him up before the trading deadline to see what he could do. he had never been a hard thrower, but he had always been successful. You don't have to throw hard to be successful. See Freddie Garcia.
  11. With the trading deadlines past, getting another pitcher is not an option, and they have no control over the pace of Buchholz's recovery. They do have time to see if AGon can play RF and make the routine plays.
  12. BTW, in the first game against Arizona in their biggest series of the season, Beltran is 4 for 4 with a HR a Triple and 3 RBI. What a bag o' suck!
  13. If the Sox make it to the world Series and Ortiz has to sit for 4 games, they are going to need another big bat. The bottom of their order would be Crawford, Salty/Tek, Reddick, Scutaro and the Pitcher. All of the production would have to come from the top 4 batters. I don't think they can produce enough to win with that lineup, and I am not hopeful that drew will return to being that big bat. Reddick was the hot hand, but he's not hot anymore. DMac is hitting more now than early on, but his production is still anemic.
  14. Hello 2nd place.
  15. Nah, I'm on to you. The Frank Malzone story never fooled me, nor did your temperamental exit.
  16. Dutchy unmasked,
  17. Albers is toast.
