  1. Does Farrell let Doubront go for the CG Shutout?
  2. we need some runs to make this game Bailey-proof.
  3. Ortiz just scalds the baseball. When the pitcher releases the ball if you listen closely, I am pretty sure that you can hear the baseball screaming.
  4. Catching is tough. You have to respect the toughness of anyone who straps on that gear and goes behind the plate.
  5. Salty is going to need to sit in the whirlpool bath for about 5 hours after catching this DH. I would expect that Lavarnway will get called up to catch tomorrow's game.
  6. You should learn to let sleeping dogs lie. I refrained from poking you, but you'll never learn
  7. When someone says repeatedly that a player has far exceeded his expectations, what does that mean to you? Maybe I am wrong about the menopause, but you just couldn't help being gratuitously bitchy while we are all rooting for our team to sweep a double header against a division opponent. I am giving you an excuse by attributing this to menopause. The alternative is that you are just a nasty ole...
  8. I guess you don't read very carefully or maybe you have had me on ignore, because I have made similar posts about Nava for about a month. Yeszir did ask that we stop poking each other, and I have honored that request, but I guess the menopause got the better of you.:harhar:
  9. I really never did remember who said what about whom. Is that right English? Because what we say doesn't mean a hill of beans. We're all just shooting the breeze.
  10. Yeah, I have openly said numerous times how Nava has far surpassed my expectations at bat (with his power) and in the field. He is probably the biggest and most pleasant surprise on this team. I don't think we would be in first place without his contributions. I wish I could be wrong about more of our players like I have been about Nava. Some people just need to say nah nah nah nah nah.
  11. Nava is the better hitter.
  12. They have met in World Series in 1963, 1977, 1978 and 1981 since the Dodgers left Brooklyn. The rivalry ended in 1957 for Brooklyn. No one in the borough ever cared for them after that. As much as I hate the Yankees, it will be hard for me to pull for the Dodgers in this series. I am very happy that we unloaded a bunch of money and cancerous personalities on the Dodgers last year.
  13. Yes, a mental issue is much worse than a mechanical flaw. BTW, People are dumping him from fantasy teams like like a bag of week old garbage after today's performance.
  14. It is definitely a trend. The hope was that it was due to a mechanical flaw that Farrell could correct. Based on recent statements from Farrell, it seems like his problems are not just a simple mechanical flaw.
  15. That was caused by the awkward play at 1B?
  16. You have the luxury of counting them out or as you say predicting regression (let's lump it all into the category of poking Yankee fans), because you don't have to face them down every day when the season ends. I guess that since we have some anonymity on this site that I shouldn't be reluctant to bury the Yanks when they look like they are dying. My reluctance is just a product of my personal history in NY. I am not criticizing you at all, because they look like they are crumbling at the foundation. I just can't be certain enough to muster up the courage to poke at them yet. The last time that I buried the Yankees early was 2008. I think that I buried them before the All Star break. I knew when they went into the season trying to pick 2 starters from among 3 rookies that they were toast. Once Hughes and Kennedy started off completely hapless I knew they were in huge trouble.
  17. Wow, I usually wait for them to stop breathing, and then I wait for them to get shot a couple of more time before I poke them like this.
  18. Oh, I thought they were blaming the neck on the backward somersault. i wonder if it is a pinched nerve situation. Those can take some time to calm down.
  19. OMG, you people need to get over it. Papelbon is gone deal with it. The greatest closer in Red Sox history closes games in the other league--at least we can be thankful for that. People need to move on and realize that the 9th inning will be heart attack time- a roller coaster ride until the next Papelbon comes along in 20 or 30 years.
  20. I am a little confused/concerned about Buchholz. Is his neck bothering him? Is that from the backward tumble in his last start? Is is still his clavicle from sleeping on it funny? Or is there something going on with his shoulder? Have they clarified what is going on with him?
  21. Vernon Wells still has a gun.
  22. Nava takes one for the team.
  23. I am really glad that I swapped Machado for Middlesucks in a pre-season Fantasy trade.
