  1. That was caused by the awkward play at 1B?
  2. You have the luxury of counting them out or as you say predicting regression (let's lump it all into the category of poking Yankee fans), because you don't have to face them down every day when the season ends. I guess that since we have some anonymity on this site that I shouldn't be reluctant to bury the Yanks when they look like they are dying. My reluctance is just a product of my personal history in NY. I am not criticizing you at all, because they look like they are crumbling at the foundation. I just can't be certain enough to muster up the courage to poke at them yet. The last time that I buried the Yankees early was 2008. I think that I buried them before the All Star break. I knew when they went into the season trying to pick 2 starters from among 3 rookies that they were toast. Once Hughes and Kennedy started off completely hapless I knew they were in huge trouble.
  3. Wow, I usually wait for them to stop breathing, and then I wait for them to get shot a couple of more time before I poke them like this.
  4. Oh, I thought they were blaming the neck on the backward somersault. i wonder if it is a pinched nerve situation. Those can take some time to calm down.
  5. OMG, you people need to get over it. Papelbon is gone deal with it. The greatest closer in Red Sox history closes games in the other league--at least we can be thankful for that. People need to move on and realize that the 9th inning will be heart attack time- a roller coaster ride until the next Papelbon comes along in 20 or 30 years.
  6. I am a little confused/concerned about Buchholz. Is his neck bothering him? Is that from the backward tumble in his last start? Is is still his clavicle from sleeping on it funny? Or is there something going on with his shoulder? Have they clarified what is going on with him?
  7. Vernon Wells still has a gun.
  8. Nava takes one for the team.
  9. I am really glad that I swapped Machado for Middlesucks in a pre-season Fantasy trade.
  10. For every Nava Jersey you can get a Middlesucks jersey at two-thirds off. they have to unload those jerseys before he gets shipped back to AAA.
  11. Nava continues to impress on both sides of the ball. Middlesucks needs to get shipped back to AAA.
  12. Useless since the concussion.
  13. can Middlebrooks get a big hit?
  14. Middlebrooks eeked over the Mendoza Line last night with the wind blown bloop double. Hopefully, he will start making some consistent hard contact.
  15. Probably a guy with minor league options.
  16. From just watching the games (way too many games for that matter), that was my strong suspicion. Thanks for those stats. They make a strong case for playing everyone in position. Eventually, I think managers will go back to standard defensive positioning. Right now, everyone is enamored with Joe Maddon, who in my opinion is an imbecile that one time filled out a lineup card with 2 third basemen and lost his DH for the game.
  17. I'm not a big believer in the shift. It is the flavor of the day among major league managers who all follow each other like lemmings. If everyone had been in position, that ball is an oiut. Davis clearly was having trouble with Wilson's heat.
  18. Is his ceiling Evan Longoria or Mark Reynolds.?
  19. Middlebrooks is doing his best to play himself out of the majors.
  20. It's tough to win extra inning games on the road.
  21. Is it just me or does this ex-Yankee trash cause us a lot of problems?
  22. Carp continues to produce. Maybe Napoli should take some children's tylenol and rest up for a couple of days.
