  1. 8-0 with an era of 2.18 and whip of 1.08 he would be a perfect fit for the Sox. Hes young, a sinker ball pitcher (151 GO/40 AO) who gets about 7 K's a game. Anyone know when he's contract is up? damnit, hes not a FA till 2009
  2. If its really between the Sox and Astros, i hope he makes his decision a little later than expected. The Astros are not a good team and after getting off to a hot start, they are starting to fade, 6 games out of the NL Central and in 5th place. They're on a 4 game losing streak and have lost 7 of they're last 10. Why would he want his last season spent on a team who won't win anything. He has nothing left to do, but possibly win another championship, which won't happen in Houston. With Wells going down, that opens up a spot for Clemens. It only makes sense to me, that if he makes a decision in June, with Houston under .500, he would have to choose the Sox. Im worried about the Yankees coming in at the last minute, and stealing him.
  3. boston globe interesting info about Willis and Varitek, forgot that he was Willis's personal catcher during the WBC. I wouldnt mind Willis on the team, but Lester might be too much. Its tough to tell, but with Wells looking like he might be out for a while, if not done for the season, we need someone else. Especially if Roger goes back to Houston.
  4. he's worse then Gonzalez and Halama last year
  5. http://www.soxprospects.com/players/ginter-matt.htm hes nothing special and would most likely get lit up against Toronto
  6. ya it is wednesday, not tuesday. My only problem with Alvarez is that he would give up a lot of HR's against a good hitting team like the Jays at their park. I dont know much about Ginter other than he hasn't been a successful MLB pitcher in his career.
  7. id go with Lester, especially if Wells is going to be out for a while, but it looks like it will be either Ginter or Alvarez. Theres also the slim chance that Wells isnt hurt that bad and may not have to skip his start. With an off day on Thursday, Schilling could possibly pitch on short rest. That seems unlikely to. The only other guy i could see possibly getting a shot is David Pauley, but highly unlikely.
  8. Heres the big question, who's on the mound for the Sox, Tuesday at Toronto?
  9. game over, easy save for Paps and a win for Tavarez i belive
  10. 5.30 for the year, but hasnt let up a run in his last 9 innings
  11. Yes, all Papelbon has to do is get one out and he gets a save
  12. Seanez for 2 innings? Tito must really like Seanez
  13. if Seanez can really turn it around and be a quality reliever, id be ecstatic but im starting to get worried about Foulke after his last couple of outings
  14. anyone know if the Yankee game is going to resume tonight?
  15. damnit again, there goes paps save. o well ill take some more runs
  16. his era in may has been around 2.05 and it looks like he many be turning around
  17.   good call
  18. gonzo with 3 hits tonight, hitting .227 on the year
  19. why not Lester? Alvarez could get the first shot.
  20. thats Seanez's 8th consecutive scorless inning, whos era in May is about 2.
  21. Foulke threw a little Tavarez temper tantrum going down to the clubhouse
  22. Foulke and a fan got into a little argument it seems as Foulke was going to the dugout
