  1. I don't care what you, Evilhand (Joe Breidey?), Forsythe or even my pals Elk, Pumpsie or 700 think.......Youkilis has to be traded and the longer he is on the roster the worse it will get. It is hampering Gonzales being shoved around the diamond, it is inhibiting Middlebrooks' development, and it is tearing the structure of the team apart. We are not going anywhere this year except deep in the tank, which we are already in, and we have to start thinking of not only getting rid of a fast declining Youkilis but think also of trading Ortiz and Beckett who may bring something of value to the Red Sox as compared to Kevin whose fast fade will only bring us a box of pretzels. The team is not going to straighten out until we can put our best nine men on the field and keep them there instead of changing the linep every f@@in' night.:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown
  2. You're on bub!!!!!!! I also think I know who you are and your pollyanna persona and carrying the water for the front office gave you away. What's the matter......STFU getting too dull for you?
  3. First of all I do believe that Middlebrooks right now is a better ballplayer and shouldn't be jerked in and out of the lineup any more. Secondly my position is that it is now now now now that we should trade Youkilis....NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!! I have said this repeatedly for the last two weeks. He is not getting better, he is getting worse, he is not hitting better, he is hitting worse-----and we are suffering for it because we have one of the best first basemen in the game struggling in right field, and please don't tell me that hasn't something to do with Gonzo's poor hitting this season. A comfort zone and peace of mind breed confidence and he has been robbed of much of that by also being jerked around the diamond. We are NOT going to get a ransom for Youkilis...a prospect that will not help us this year or maybe ever. That the team is still reluctant to trade him and clear the decks for a set lineup tells me one reason this team has gone back into the tank. There is no consistency or continuity with this team and that is one thing that any good and successful team must have---and right now we are a mess. What's worth we have an idiot as GM who is risk adverse, has trouble making a decision and when he makes one it is usually the wrong one. Needlesss to say if I ran the team the first thing I would do would be to send Pukington packing. My prediction is this will get worse and worse until if and when Youk is traded. Then we will start playing better but it will be too late and some of you who keep pulling the FO and Youk's chestnuts out of the fire will wonder, gee willickers, why didn't we do this before? Well I'm telling you it ought to be done NOW!!!!!!
  4. Yes and we have two of those types on this thread, one who can't help himself since he is part of that horse dung board where every day is a skip over the yellow brick road and pollyanna reigns supreme. Half the guys there don't know s*** about the game and the other half that do deny reality into believing that black is white. The other guy should know better. We call it Yawkeyism over on the o ther one we post on and to me that mindset of protecting and nurturing the sacred cows on our team is alive and well in 2012. Youkilis has to go so we can start rebuilding at the same time we finally put our best players on the field.
  5. The fact is as long as Youkilis is on the team the longer we are going to have a fractured lineup. Gonzales is one of the best first baseman in baseball and imo he has been hurt by being jerked off between first and the outfield. You think the Yankees would do that to Teixeira in order to keep some sacred cow that no longer can do the job? We will never get much for Youkilis. There is little market for him and one team, the D'Backs have already dropped out. In addition, we keep jerking our top prospect around and we might find that Middlebrooks becomes our infield version of Bard, who is now thoroughly and utterly ruined beyond hope of recovery. Youk has to be traded so we can put our best team on the field and start the process of rebuilding our team. Each day the putrid Pukington delays this move means we go deeper in the tank. And make no mistake about it, the team is once again in the tank.
  6. Jacoby, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Boston Celtics fans would stand a minute for their team to be completely broken up, and further more your team does not have that high a draft choice to begin with. It is also hard to pry a No. 1 from another team unless you give something big up and my guess it that only Rondo and Pierce fit that category. Yes, you could still get a couple of solid players for those two but you would not be a serious contender for anything for at least another five years. Do you want that. We're facing somewhat the same thing out here in Los Angeles. There is even talk of trading Kobe Bryant---and for him we could get a solid No. 1 and No. 2 from a team that is ready or just a year away from a title, but we would be rebuilding just like you guys while Staples Center becomes a ghost town when they play. Well it's basketball's loss because no matter how you slice it the best NBA Title rivalry is Celtics vs Lakers. Try maybe in 2017.
  7. The fact Elk is that the more Youk plays the less value he has. He hasn't exactly been knocking the cover off the ball, and as you so smartly said, his best days are long behind him. As for Cherington it bamboozles me that so many on this board actually think this guy knows what the hell he's doing. He's a rube and would buy the Brooklyn Bridge, that is, if he knew what it was and where it was at. The guy is a total clown.
  8. I don't know the Celtics are going to do this off season. You keep hearing out here in California that they are going to finally break up their old gang and get younger, but I heard the same song after the 2010 finals when my Lakers were able to prevail. The difference this year, though, between your team and mine was like two different worlds. We sucked and played like a pack of turds while your guys overachieved and went much farther than most people thought they would. You also have one of the two or three best coaches in the game, and dont think that didn't have something to do with it. My gut feeling is that Allen will be gone but Pierce and Rondo will most certainly be back. As for Kevin Garnett, if you don't want him back send him out here. We could use a tough cookie with the balls to go all out on every play and take no prisoners.
  9. Ortiz is struggling and has for the past two weeks. Tomorrow we face lefty Wandy Rodriquez and this would be a good time to sit him down for a game, put Youkilis on first and hope he doesn't blow part of his body out, and put the deserving Will Middlebrooks at third where it seems that when he plays we win.
  10. Why don't we all wake up and smell the freakin' coffee!!!!!!!! If you have been following the team the past week and a half to two weeks, you would see that when Middlebrooks plays we win. When he sits we lose. That has happened the last five time Will has sat. Some of you may think there is nothing to that, fine. BUT I DO!!!!! We have a terrific young ballplayer who we are screwing because turdbag Pukington is afraid to pull the trigger on a trade to open third base for Will and end this circus with our lineup. Tonight Youk struck out three times in three official at-bats; Middlebrooks got one at-bat and got a hit. He has more homers and more RBI's than Youkilis and deserves to be in the lineup full time. I don't know what brain cramps our front office and managers get with their worshipping of their sacred cows but since we are not going anywhere this year with our miserable starting pitching this would be a good time to get some youth in the lineup and start the rebuilding process. All this talk about Youkilis doing better since he got back only clouds the issue that he is injury prone and needs to be traded not only to open the job for Will but to get him out of town before he breaks down again and all we are offered is a box of ping pong balls for him. AND THAT MEANS HE WOULD STILL BE AROUND TO KEEP MIDDLEBROOKS FROM DEVELOPING FURTHER AS HE IS JERKED OFF IN AND OUT OF THE LINEUP. For God's sake Pukington wake the #### up!!!!!!!!
  11. Nice topic guys but I think we're getting a little premature. We have two prima donnas with talent who heal about as slowly as a tortous runs. You would think they would both be ready by now but we are getting to the two month point in the season and neither is near ready to come back. Crawford seems to be chipping away with one injury after another and I wonder if he has been scarred by his miserable performance he gave last year. Face it, he sucked both at bat and in the field last season and so far we've gotten bumpkiss out of that bloated contract we gave him. As for Ellsbury, I love the guy but he is a very brittle and slow healing type of player. I also wonder how mentally tough he is.....two out of three seasons he's been laid up for long durations. I want them both back but I don't see them back this month, nor next month either. And who knows w hat happens when either one of them suddenly gets a hangnail or a bloody nose.....2013???? Maybe?????
  12. That's a good point '78, but the fact remains too many of the current band of Red Sox seem to have developed this sense of entitlement, that someone owes them something when they only owe something to themselves to stop bellyaching and straighten up and fly right. Just look at the Shitbag, my name for Lester. Every damn game of late when he doesn't get a call from the umpire or something goes w rong in the field he sulks and crumbles like a cookie. BarF actually things he shouldn't have been sent down---something only a f***ing idiot on any board would agree with. Thank God no one here does. The team has been noodling around since the first game and here we are still in last place. I'm taking off for Chicago next week to see our team take on the Cubs and I'm sure not going to see them display the same chicken s*** attitude that has come to represent them the past couple of seasons. I want to see the real Red Sox there, not the pack of moaners and complainers that seem to be in evidence on the current makeup of the club.
  13. Overreacting just a tad you say Bob? Seems I heard some of this s*** from your pal Pedroiaphile last September when he simply said the Red Sox were just going through a bad stretch of baseball and would soon recover while Pumpsie, Elk, Muggah and I called it for what it was.......the beginning of a big tank job and collapse. The fruition of the pablum and babying of the players that disgraced and exiled manager FrancoMa dispensed regularly caught up with the team and it has now continued to bums like BarF who ought to keep his mouth shut and try to regain a semblance of his ability and self respect. Frankly, I don't think he is going to recover and will never be a starting pitcher---just as some of us have said since last fall. Apparently you never have taken that quote y ou use from me on another board very seriously so let me refresh it for you. To wit.....There are all sorts of reasons, excuses and rationalizations for losing. Winning needs none of that....it speaks for itself.
  14. I think you underestimate Red Sox fans Jung. I think most of them agree with us that Middlebrooks belongs in the lineup. The guy is not only doing well when in the lineup but we seem to win when he plays---and we lose when Youkilis is playing third. Of course there is that salary angle and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if orders are coming down from the bumbling Lucchinodork and the totally inept Pukington to keep those sacred cows in the lineup. Now I have a question....WHEN THE HELL IS SOMEONE IN THAT FRONT OFFICE GOING TO GROW A BRAIN AND SWING THAT TRADE FOR YOUKILIS? It isn't even to get quality help for him that I want that trade. I w ant to start getting some of our younger players in the lineup because we are not going to go anywhere this season with a starting rotation like the one we have and a bullpen that might return to its early season form as it did tonight. Start to back up the truck.
  15. Very bold Forsyth!!! But you are completely wrong. He will not be traded unless the team interested takes over the whole salary for Youkilis this year. Prune Face Henry will not eat one dime of that contract and that means what happened to all those unsuccessful supposed trades for Mike Lowell two years ago will happen here. We are screwing our best prospect right now and for a team that has ruined some of its good prospects in the past and maybe one this year (BarF), right now I wouldn't trust those morons running the team with carrying a water bottle.
  16. This lineup tells me we will most likely lose tonight. The fact that once again Middlebrooks is on the pine tells me pretty much that we don't have our best players in the game....and what for?????? Youkilis should have been traded by now. They say there is interest in him, right? Well what the hell are the idiots in the front office waiting for.....for when he goes lame on the DL again? We don't have to wait for the damn trade deadline to make a move, but we know Pukington is as risk adverse as any baseball exec in the game and is an ignorant and gutless bum besides. Bad enough we have Shitbag Lester pitching for us this evening but to keep Will on the bench again is absolutely stupid and harmful. Of course, that is just my opinion but I'm entitled to it, and I also know that the last two times Will has sat and Youk played third base we have lost. The last three times Will was in the lineup we won. I don't like the odds tonight. I hope I'm very wrong.:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown
