  1. 1 run against some of the best in the MLB for 9 innings is enough proof for me
  2. so if your mad that it is a "yankee's move" does that mean if matsuzaka actually does well for us unlike all the yankee pitching accuasitions you will be back on board?
  3. that sounds good to me but realistically how many prospects do you think you can get plus santana for just manny, and then after that how many realistacally do you think it would take to get jones
  4. i would keep willy mo im interested in seeing what he can do over a full season but i also see the point that we cant take the risk of both him and coco having down years again especially if we put pedroia in the lineup, its just too many ?'s that could really hurt us manny and ortiz cant do it all. and with aramis ramirez now signed im guessing its most likely lowell will be back at 3rd next year is there any other possibilities? just curious i havent really heard much about that
  5. its up to him to pick up the option right? and there is no way he does better money wise than what he would get with us if he decided to stay. so id expect to see him back here next year or traded.
  6. i was thinking wang for the yanks and dare i say it.. papelbon for the sox? just because they both have tremendous expectations both very young and papelbon could be hurt plus its no fun picking people like tek who is at that age where decline is natural
  7. well as long as he doesnt complain about not getting too much playing time and more importantly as long as he doesnt get too much playing time then im fine with it
  8. idk interesting story....and at the very least kind of curious how that had been missed all these years, unless of course the author is lying and it was photoshopped or something
  9. and im pretty sure adam dunn has lowered his K total signifacantly the past two years so maybe, given time to mature, WMP will do the same, or even better he can perfect the art of wild swinging and become our very own Vlad lol
  10. everyone is making this kid sound like he is the best the MLB has to offer. Im personally skepitcal of that because i never saw him pitch, not exactly getting too involved in the WBC, and i dont really think any of those stats are valid because it was february correct? idk of too many major leaguers 100% ready to compete at that point in the year. id rather pass on him and while he is getting all the attention land one hopefully two other reliable SP
  11. no i didnt know that, something the redsox could definately do without
  12. i reread your post and your right, you didnt compare bronson to bagwell but you did compare the trades. so before you compare a trade that has allowed a guys whole career to be played to one that has been only one year lets give this one that same oppurtunity because IMO wily mo could be the huge star bagwell is somewhere down the line (then again i could just be being blinded by the bs the FO feeds us about everyone we get). also the 5th starter did hurt us this year but lets not talk about bronson like he would have saved our season because im pretty sure we all know that he isnt quite that type of pitcher
  13. i think youve gone a little fruity mr crunchy because there is no way trading your #5 starter is like trading bagwell, and we still dont know about wily mo he has plenty of time to turn into something great i miss arroyo but that trade doesnt even deserve to bring bagwell into the conversation nevermind jesus
  14. Well, since when do the RedSox and Yankees make blockbuster trades like this with each other?
  15. did they not want him to answer the only questions he was being asked about? it is kinda tough to seem as though you are focusing on your opponent when the only things they are asking you is about what was written in the paper
  16. maybe 1 even two more but probably not any type of valued prospect the main stucture of lester and delcarmen would be what gets it done
  17. why will they require an established player? they didnt get one for beckett and they are rebuilding so isnt that about taking chances on talent that doesnt get paid? i think lester and delcarmen could work
  18. it appeared as though the helmet going towards the ump was unintentional, however it was still in his direction, and in light of the delmon young thing a very small suspension will probably be warranted
  19. lets be realistic our starting pitching cant be much better than the yanks is, we do have a ton of question marks. that being said i dont think our, are as big, plus i think we have a better bullpen to back our rotation
  20. we picked him up because he is a great defensive first baseman, not so good offensively but that could change in fenway and in the lineup we have, i think he is a great pickup considering lowell hasnt shown anything in spring training + he's cheap
  21. you saw mankind that must have been a thrill, he is incredable in that match against undertaker, you know the hell in a cell that match is the best ever
  22. i think we should keep our standards but i doubt anyone who has respect for the game will ever choose to wear number 45 for the redsox ever again...so you might as well but it up for everyone to see along with the other retired numbers
  23. hey im going to that game too!!
  24. if we can sign andrew jones next season we would be able to trade manny for pitching better than zito or mulder
