  1. Agreed, double time. Manny's my favorite.
  2. Living in Minnesota and going to Twins games, I can tell you the stuff Hunter can do in the outfield is un-real sometimes. He's simply amazing, but most Twins fans will tell ya his bat is nothing to write home about. I've also heard rumors of the Yankees being interested in him, we'll see how it all works out.
  3. True, but each Ump has his own strike zone. Technically, all strike zones are the same, but in reality each is taylored around an individual Ump. It's usually not a very big deal, sometimes it is, but most of the time blaming an Ump for a loss is a cop out. The Red Sox didn't get defeated by poor umpiring, they got beat by a team that was hot at the right time, a team that was just plain better at the time.
  4. Exactly. We can't fall into that trap that Yankees currently find themselves, bringing in and overpaying aging players.
  5. I think it's kind of sad that Umps are going to scrutinized so closely. Human error is part of what makes baseball a great game. Strike zones are are up to the individual umpires to to decide.
  6. Jarrod Washburn? I haven't even heard much about him. He'd be a pretty nice addition.
  7. That sucks about Amare. He's my favorite basketball player. All of my favorites are losing and getting hurt. The Red Sox get swept, the Packers are 1-4, Amare gets hurt, Notre Dame lost, jeez, the sky is falling.
  8. Yeah, true. They should have stopped them on 4th and 9. They shouldn't have put themselves in that situation. But the fact of the matter is they did, and they got robbed at the very end. It works both ways.
  9. No fair, they have to throw in a moose too.
  10. Once Edmonds got on, I knew what was coming when Pujols stepped up. I just knew that he was going to destroy a pitch, and man did he ever. He just had the perfect swing and connection with that ball. I do want the Astros to win because I believe they present the best chance to beat the White Sox whom I just hate.
  11. Hey all. I'm new here. I'm a Red Sox fan for about the past 5 or so years. I live in Minnesota, but everyone swears I should live in Boston because they say I'm an out of control Red Sox fan. I take that as a compliment.
  12. I know, they could be a top 5 team, that'd be something. But I'm not surprised to see them keep #9. When you play the #1 team in the nation so close, and should've won, it's only just that they maintain their ranking.
  13. That's what makes me the most angry. I mean I can take a loss, but it's a hard pill to swallow when you know you SHOULD have won.
  14. Jeez. Great game. Unfortuneatly, the wrong team came out on top. My Irish lost.
  15. Basically, but he's still my favorite player.
  16. Unfortunately, yes they do play a role in the outcome of games. Sometimes a crucial role.
  17. Sounds like excuses to me.
