  1. I believe it's been said already, but the team was aging. They were starting to show their age, and in a year or two they'd be washed out.
  2. Agreed. This rotation could rock.
  3. Hate to bust your bubble, but New York has everything Chicago has..... and probably more. Sure, Boston has the start of the revolution, and the Sawx, so that makes Boston cooler than New York, but Chicago I don't know. What I hear from you sounds like jealousy. I don't like the Yankees, but I have nothing against the city itself. In fact I'm probably going to be stationed in New York for the Marines. But about the Subway Series and no one caring.......I hate to bust your bubble, no one really cares about Chi town series either.... People love the Cubs.....but no one cares about the other Sox. But yeah, that was really a hate filled post from someone from the Second city.
  4. I wonder if Manny realizes he's a lot of the reason Ortiz is so good. With Manny protecting Ortiz, he sees a lot of pitches he wouldn't without Manny behind him. That's the key to our whole offense right there, if we unload Manny, we sure as hell better get someone who can protect Ortiz, otherwise we're in a bit of trouble. Anyways, Manny will likely not be traded, there just aren't enough teams that could take on 20 million a year, outside the Yankees, but I don't think they want him. The Mets are out, the Yankees are out, I don't think Arizona has enough to be taken serious. That leaves Manny's old team, Cleveland who he expressed interest in earlier. But, why would Cleveland want him? They're team is young, inexpensive, and loaded with potential, why would they want a player approaching the end of his prime who makes 20 million a year?
  5. Ummm is that ******** I smell. http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Article.php?Page=366&Category=5
  6. Tell that to Texas Tech.
  7. Who do you guys think is going to be WS MVP? There are a lot of players who could take it this year.
  8. Leave it up to Fox.
  9. Same. At first I was like, " this might not be so bad, I can just be a casual fan of the game. No pressure to have my team win or anything, I can just enjoy the game." But umm, not so much. This World Series is boring me to death. I couldn't even really get into the marathon game last night, I just wanted it to end.
  10. Actually the Pats aren't my team. Although, in all fairness, Brady's my boy. But whenever the question is posed, " who's the best quarterback in the league?" no matter what sham of an "expert" you ask, they'll always say "Peyton Manning." It's been that way pre-49 TDs, and intensified even more in post-49 TDs. I don't care, if idiots like Merriel Hodge, and Sean Salsibury want to keep slobbing Manning's knob, that's their business, but that doesn't mean they're wrong. And if you think Brady gets more coverage, you're dead wrong. Brady's better, Manning is the biggest choke artist in North American sports. He's been the media darling for a long time, and it's only been hyped up even more of late. I'm sick of it.:thumbdown
  11. No, it's a wall to wall Manning knob slob constantly. The only time ESPN fawns over the Pats is when they win the SB. For a week or two they give the Pats some dap, then it's back to " this is Manning's year. 49 TDs. Manning so awesome. 49 TDs. Manning is just fabulous. 49 TDs."
  12. Agreed, I get sick of the wall to wall " we love Manning so much" fest on ESPN and everywhere else. It's sickening.
  13. Since I showed Manning's pathetic postseason numbers, it's only fair I show Brady's: http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Article.php?Page=261&Category=7 Read that article for all of it. But it should be obvious that Manning is NOT the best quarterback in the league. Unless you prefer 6 touchdown games vs. Detroit on Thanksgiving over flawless postseason performances.:dunno:
  14. http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Article.php?Page=261&Category=7 Sorry but, Brady is better. Manning might be flashier but, Brady "just wins baby." I'll take 3 Super Bowls over 49 TD's anyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Doesn't look like the best QB in the league, " bar none" to me.
  15. I don't hate the Colts, but I do hate Peyton. The most overrated, choke artist in sports.
  16. I agree, the BCS is total crap. I hate it so bad. I get in really heated debates with my friend Jess over this all the time. She's an unshamed BSC apologist. This is debate is my 2nd favorit sports debate. #1 being who's better: Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. You'd think it'd be obviously Brady, some people don't agree.
  17. So much of the optimist.
  18. I'm pulling for the Astros, but if the White Sox win, no big deal. It's a sort of a nice break from the pressure packed, win or die mentality from last year.
  19. I remember that. That was the lamest, corniest opening ever.
  20. That was one the Astros let get away. The had men in scoring position in 3 straight innings and didn't capitalize on it. And yeah, Jenks was electric, but the hero of yesterday's game was Joe Crede. The guy hit a homer, and made like 2 or 3 excellent plays at 3rd base that saved about 3 runs.
  21. For about 90% of the workforce it isn't, but I guess NBA players feel the need to be different. Also, this a good opportunity to cry racism, America never gets sick of crying racism.
  22. Mine: Detroit Sadly, Indy New Orleans Philly Green Bay Pittsburgh Washington Dallas Raiders Titans Bears Denver Atlanta
  23. So your telling me that because a rule gets broken all the time and not called makes it right to not be called? Your logic is flawed. You're admitting that USC got a bad call to go there way, yet you seem to have no problem with that? You act almost like it's something to be proud of? Face it, USC got exposed, and when a team with a little more talent, and better oficiating such as Va Tech or Texas, plays you, your little team is going to get it handed to them. Oh, and if you decide to point out how USC is thrashing Washinton today, you'll only look foolish.
  24. Very good point. Living in a state where all you have is homergrown talent (Minnesota) it's fun to watch guys come up, and you share a bond with them more than you can with a hired gun.
  25. Agreed. Some players just can't hack it in cities with a ton of pressure. A good example I believe woudl be Barry Bonds. As good as he is, he's such a private person, and takes everything so personally that he'd never make it in a Boston or New York.
