  1. Why do I get the feeling that even if we sweep, we gonna lose like 5 out of 6 after this? This series has been very draining on our pen
  2. Jeter and Abeu will probably get on also to setup Arod for the inning ending GIDP.
  3. damnit throw me a bone, my guy has averaged a walk per inning in this game. not trying to troll or anything, but your lineup without Manny reminds me of one of our earlier lineups when almost everyone was injured and we had Melky, Bernie, and Bubba in the OF.
  4. Last Play: D. Ortiz intentionally walked I'm a frigging genius, everyone respect mah authority
  5. It's the simple plays he has toruble making. You know, like throwing the ball, not grounding into rally killing dps, etc.
  6. I guarantee Ortiz is getting an IBB this inning.
  7. I think Bill Simmons has it at 5 years. BTW I expect Ortiz to get the Manny treatment now that Manny is out of the game. I would be serisouly pissed and puzzled if he didn't.
  8. btw i swear i think expect a HR from Manny or Ortiz everytime they're up. I'm almost afraid to hit the refresh button on Yahoo Game channel
  9. good question. I think he's the worst guy in the lineup to have in that spot. At least with guys like fasano or green, you know they gonna bunt and stay out of a DP at least. ARod is just terrible in that situation this year. I serisouly hpe they think about trading him after this season. You guys need a 3B? he might as well be on your payroll at this point.
  10. I dont think there was anyone else left in the bullpen at that point, exept for Tavarez and I understand he's been a bit shaky this year.

  12. vulgar and immature, what a surprise.
  13. You know you've had these. Watching a game 7, or maybe just while sitting on the train. You dream about the things you would do on the field if you somehow discoevred Aladdin's lamp. And please, keep it G rated. My baseball fantasy is being a ambidextrous pitcher. I know there was one who pitched an inning of relief in the 90s, and I think the Red Sox used to have one also. I daydream sometimes and imagine myself striking out Ortiz from the left side with a Unit-like slider, and then doing the same to Manny from the right side. It's a bit silly, I know, but I think it would be pretty cool thing to watch. I would also love to see a closer named whose last name was Goldberg. They could play the Goldberg theme song from WCW and have the crowd chant "Goldberg" while he walks to the mound with fireworks going off in the background.
  14. I could be wrong, but it is something I've picked up from the Red Sox contingent on other sites that I've frequented. Someone put up a stat that hes thrown like a really high percentage of fastballs. It was also mentioned that he bandaids or protects his fingertips during bullpen sessions. The speculation was that they were cutting down or perhaps he himself was cutting down on the number of curveballs because it is the main factor behind his blister problems. I don't know why he just doesn't pickup a guitar in offseason. I had callouses after my first day of lessons.
  15. What do you mean on talent alone? What kind of talents does it take to make a good QB? Smarts? Instinct? Accuracy? Leadership? Brady has all 4 and is head and shoulders above everyone else. What he lacks is the 75 yard bomb, but then again almost everyone else lacks the instincts and leadership that he has.
  16. I do think that Beckett will be dominant if the Sox can make the playoffs, becuase I think he will go for broke and worry about the blisters in the offseason. However, his curve could be a little flat if he hasn't been using it as much this year.
  17. I wish Theo went after Arthur Rhodes. It's perfect for the rivalry, as he hates Lidle already. Plus we own him
  18. i havent thrown a decent splitter in my lifetime, but I was under the impression that throwing a splitter is even more stress on your fingers than a curveball, and wouldn't Beckett's blister problems be an issue?
  19. Moose will be back, but not at his current salary. he'll probably ask for $13 mil. I think he'll sign for around 10 per for 2 years
  20. I'll just say this. It seems a lot easier to find guys who save 40 games a year than guys who win 16+. If Papelbon can go starter innings with the stuff that he has, you've gotta look to turn him into a starter.
  21. I agree. It was almost as good as holding KC's offense in check
  22. ugh...where have you gone Steve Balboni?
  23. I'm a litle uncomfortable discussing those attributes of the Melk man. Can we go back to low brow humor?
  24. he looks like he's 9 years old, maybe 10 on a good day
