  1. The Globe says it's only the Same-division factor that is keeping this deal from happening. But if it does, I'm not worried about our offensive output at all, as I posted before, we upgraded offensively almost everywhere we made acquisitions.
  2. Unless someone owns someone then no, I haven't seen any owning in awhile
  3. I really don't like any deal with the mest unless it involves Milledge or Beltran, and I''m not excited about eBeltran at all.
  4. His talent is not what i was questioning. Sorry if I'm just bringing this up but lets face it, he wont pitch forever He only started in 1999, and 5 in 2000, but that's it.
  5. Damon has a career .353 OBP, terrible for a lead-off hitter, and was a self-proclaimed "catalyst" of our team when he hit terribly in the first few games of the '04 ALCS. Yes, losing Theo was emotionally bad, but I'm confident that our FO is pulling the same moves he would, being that his minions are running the show now. Beckett is in no way injury prone, blisters are ot an injury, and can be easily taken care of. Our FO has done nothing wrong IMO, except for not getting a lefty-specialist, but thats it. At worst we have Loretta play SS, and Gaffy play 2B, and in no way is that weak at all. And how is our rotation not bolstered with the addition of Beckett, Papelbon, and a healthy Schilling? If anything we have improved from last year with a new and improved bullpen, full of 3, maybe 4 closers if you count Hansen, a re-vamped and offensively superior IF from last year, and a good core of 3 pitchers who have the potential of winning a few Cy Young's in your day. What is it that you have? a 32 year old who will possibley be a Bernie Williams repeat? A 42 year old ace with no cartilage in his knee, a declining catcher, and a 36 year old closer who has stacked up 600+ innings? Oh wait you got Fansworth...He's 30, and has a career ERA of 4.45
  6. Plus, we could gain that power back from other psoitions. If healthy, trot Nixon might be able to hit 15+ HRs and maybe above 20. If he returns to form Lowell is more than capable of hitting 20 or more. Loretta tops Bellhorn, and Tejada tops Edgar, so it almost comes out good for us.
  7. Thi is the way I've felt about the Sox offseason put into words and proper sentences. I've repeated over and over again about how it wasn't a catastrophic offseason at all, and we have improved greatly from last year's team at most positions, and the bullpen.
  8. yea, u can never tell with 19 yr olds
  9. Not only did Damon leave us hangning, now the Ms want more
  10. well someones gotta use that avatar
  11. Anyone find this compareable to something GKL would say?
  12. yea, sizemore qould help the FOs "bad" image a lot, depending on wat we give up
  13. Looks like Seattle had a talk with TB about who to ask for.
  14. IMO the only hole we have is in CF. I don't know why the Sox haven't considered the Loretta to SS, and Graffy to 2B until Pedroia is ready idea. AT first I'm fine with Youkilis and Snow (who wants to be a late-inning replacement). Also I wouldn't want to deal any prospects to SEA for Reed, I would rather try and get them to Nixon or Clement if they'll take him. As mentioned the only fault of the FO is not having a lefty specialist in there, I think DiNardo is a great long inning guy, kind of coming in the way Arroyo did, but I'm not sure if he can get out lefties on demand, but his curveball is pretty wicked. The only thng that bothers me is that the Sox have been really quiet lately, and haven't pulled a move since Flaherty. I would like to see them at least commit to pursuing one CF or OF and show some sense of progress to fill that big hole.
  15. Riverside can u pull out that league that explains how capable Loretta is at SS?
  16. The Orioles must have THE most STUPID front office I have ever seen.
  17. Oh, I misunderstood
  18. That's classic
  19. Yeah, I'll always remember that moment though
  20. It's a combo of his health and his mongo contract
  21. ALright, the whole thing with Lugo is this: Yes, he is a decent player and I wouldn't mind giving him playing time except for a few things: The Devil Rays apparently think he's ARod of 3 years agoand is worth Marte and more. Also we have a more complete player in Loretta with the bat and defensively. I would not agree with any trade to get a SS unless he's better than Loretta.
  22. 24redsox is ur avatar a picture of you?
  23. Exactly what I wouldlvoe for him to instill in Pedroia.
  24. You don't have to worry about how good Manny will be, and currently the only player worth trading him for that is available is Tejada.
