  1. Predictions? ESPN seems to be on the Laker's nuts right now, I think all 8 writers favoring LA. But then again, I also say Laker's in 6, 5 if Kobe plays amazing.
  2. That's what impresses me about the Pistons, they never seem rattled at all, no matter what run the Celtics go on. Other game 5 notes: impressive games from Perk, Sheed, and Allen, that really sums up this game.
  3. Did you like jst notice his dissapearence from existence or...
  4. Unless the lay-off affects them, I agree and have the Pistons taking this series, in 6, but with more of a struggle than you seem to be implying. Experience in the playoffs was obviously an underrated concern for these C's, as it has taken two main players in Allen and Rondo out of it for the most part (at least consistently). Also, if there's any team I can see that will finally come in and steal one at the Garden it's the Pistons. Only way Boston wins is if they consistently get great play from Pierce like game 7. Garnett was little off, but nonetheless a monster on the boards. But you never know, the Cavs though theya ren't as good a defensive team than Detroit, played great this series. If Allen isn't held to so little opportunities and great defense, maybe his re-addition will put the Green back in the Finals. Anotehr factor to look at is this is a much different team from the Cavs, who mostly rely on LeBron for their offense, this Pistons team however has multiple scorers and will require more of a team D than just good play from Pierce/Posey.
  5. Good game from the Celts, seemed to get a lot of their offensive swagger back. Pierce was as he should be, Allen showed hints of returning to form, KG was beastly,a dn even Doc was good or maybe lucky with his substituton with Big baby.
  6. I attirubte this most to Biron's excellent play, he has just shut them down no matter how ridiculous the opportunity, that and Umberger's just gettin everything in right now.
  7. I'll pass, then again I wouldn't kill anyone if we got him. Only reason he had a dip last year was because of a command loss first half of the season, but nonetheless I still see some decline ERA-wise, which as stated by some will not be helped entering the ALE.
  8. I'm sorry but f*** the Avs for tonight, the Bruins just won a tremendous game 6 to force 7 in Montreal on Monday. Amazing atmosphere at the game tonight, so many up's and down's that coudlv'e resulted in a win for either team. Best hockey game of the playoffs so far IMO, or at least period (this period being the 3rd).
  9. Key word is if. Not sure if you'e watched but my B's have outplayed the Habs 4 straight games now and are very much in this series. I will be attending Saturday's game, and hope we can build of our glorious 5-1 victory we laid on Montreal's finest tonight.
  10. Great game Sunday night. I was on the edge of my seat or off it the last few minutes of regulation and OT. Great game despite the low score, great golatending work at both ends, esecially from the 20 year old. The officiating bothered me in the beginning, but they either let them play or it was clean towards the end of the game. If we tie it up, it will be a very interesting series to say the least.
  11. Went 5 strong today in Pawtucket only allowing 1 hit and 1 BB with 5 Ks and no ERs. Fastball topped out at 96, final pitch was 95.
  12. All I hate about the Habs is Kovalev, used to DESPISE Ribeiro, and the current coach, because he just looks like a complete pussy. Other than that have had no problems with any fans, or experiences to talk about.
  13. Like some of you something sprang on me at the last moment, screwing what I wanted out of my team, at least in the first 9 rounds. Everyone is expendable on my team, and am looking for help in the infield anywhere but 1B and SS.
  14. Time's fine for me
  15. haha I was laughing hysterically at what he did, here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3273421
  16. Agreed, though I'm sure mannyhof was looking at it from a WS standpoint, what with Boston on top in the new millenium 2-1.
  17. Bruins creeping up the standings with 6 in a row, looking strong heading into the final stretch. Great game today, come from behind, then win in a shootout vs. Atlanta after wiping the floor with the two best teams in the East.
  18. per Baseball HQ: "Colon's high ERA last year was partially due to a 36% H% and 62% S%, so it's reasonable to expect some improvement. Plus, he raised his Dom to pre-injury levels. But that's about it for the good news from the 2007 season - his Ctl rose, and his FB% crept up to the 40% level. Even though his hr/f returned to a league-average value, his hr/9 remained high."
  19. zing! beat me to the punch. my verdict is the same as everyone else's, little risk high reward, great move, etc.
  20. in as the Kings of Swing, and while I wouldn't mind adding more people, I prefer the 12 team league limit, if there's more maybe make 1 AL league and 1 NL league?
  21. the E-Trade ones with the baby were funny, and eyah agreed, tough crowd, much betetr than als year.
  22. Agreed in the first part, but Schill, and Wake (?) missed time last year. Also anyone who says they expected those numbers posted by Lowell and Pedroia is lying through their teeth, especially given Lowell's age, and Pedroia's inexpereince. Beckett you have more of a case to believe he'd rebound, but only to a certain extent. And yes I'd say we underacheived in terms of record, Gagne cost us a few wins, and in just not reaching expectations were Manny, Tek, Crisp, Drew, Lugo, very key components to this team when one was the opening day lead-off hitter and another batted 4th spot all year.
  23. I don't have to use 2 hands for the Sox fans I know that prove your statement above
