  1. Agreed, eitehr the Sox are trying to keep him from his blister problems, or he could be just stubborn and cocky, thinking he can just strike everyone out with his heat. However against the Royals, though they are more than sub-par in terms of lineups, he used many more deuces and got results from it, going 8 strong with 7 Ks. If anyone has a stat or memory on what the home-runs came off of the most, id bet itd be heaters.
  2. Man, just when I thought all our major pitching prospects are already in teh majors, we got a whole otehr batch coming up. Though his ETA seems late for his success, what does he have to work on? his delivery?
  3. We've already had enough experiments go bad so far this season (J. Johnson), lets not push it.
  4. yea, hes only a handful of hits away from where he should be, just gotta pick up the power
  5. yeah, he should have gotten a standing-o, the game two error didnt do much as I think we would have lost the series anyway
  6. yea, without the 3 hits, he's looking very ARod-esque
  7. Good point about the wild card, I forgot, and we all know how valuable a good closer can be, steal by the Braves IMO
  8. I don't really understand this trade from the Guardians stand-point, I eman the Braves should be selling ratehr than them, what's the skinny on the prospect?
  9. This guy is basically Pauley, has a sinking fastball, change n curve, just that he's a lefty, which isn't bad.
  10. Good point, that including that Beckett is a better pitcher IMO. So 4 years for 42 or 3 for 30 isnt bad at all.
  11. I like the idea of having the paps "is so fuking intense" on the back and having yeszir's latest version of w/e on the front, id buy it. but if yeszir does decide to make it, I say everyone who contrbutes a good amount should get a shirt.
  12. And if he keeps hittin like this we'll have yet anotehr offensive threat.
  13. On his facebook he seems to want to sign
  14. Id take either of those two, but Redmond I just twitch at when he's brought up.
  15. Thatll be interesting to see if they re-sign him or hand over the reigns to Pedroia, whos on fire in AAA.
  16. The Globe says lefty Kason Gabbard is going to get teh start against Seattle in place of Wake, here's his report: Lefty suffered nagging injuries over his first few year in pro ball. When healthy, Gabbard has a high 80s sinking fastball that hits the low 90s, with a plus changeup and curveball. Mature with good mound presence. Sounds like a left-handed David Pauley.
  17. Agreed, It's n time to panic, get Wells up here and hopefully he'll stay healthy, and in the emantime, ride out any one of the 5th starter's we have until Wake or Clement get back, once we get an established rotation this team will take off.
  18. Wow, we're really comin back down to earth afetr that 12 game streak
  19. Well, if you enlarge the graphic a little it would look nice on a t-shirt, i forget where, but you can print out graphics from a computer onto a shirt.
  20. Also, Arroyo is in the National League, and in a much easier division than the AL East, the Cardinals and Stros have been sub-par, and the besides them and teh Breweres there aren't teams that can even come close to friggin' Tampa. And the auto-out in th 9th spot has also got to be helping Arroyo's ERA, which is coming back down to earth. So he wouldn't be the same pitcher if he were back here. On anotehr note, the real tell-tell on if the trades a bust or not will come in the future, if Pena reaches his potential, and when Arroyo leaves his peak years, which he is in the middle of as we speak.
  21. Yeszir, you should put one of those on the shirt you were making, they are pretty badass
  22. I disagree, I mean that just means he racked up what Curt Schilling has done in a less amount of starts or innings. I think if Liriano stays under 3.00 he gets teh Cy Young as he is already projected to win 20+. And also, Paps has blown 3 saves and has started to tail off a bit recently, though we couldn't have expected for him to stay perfect. However, I think if the Sox stay in first, and the Twins don't make the playoffs, Papelbon will win, if the Sox lose it to the Yanks/Jays, then Liriano gets it. If both teams win, the Liriano also.
  23. It is crazy where Im livin (the North End of Boston, mostly Italian neighborhood) it is absolutely insane. VIVA ITALIA!!!!!!!!!!
  24. What is his ETA along with the otehr draftees from this year?
  25. We also signed other Latin American prospects: -- 3B Pedro Chourio, Venezuela (bats right) -- RHP Stormy Pimental, Dominican Republic -- LHP Manuel Rivera, Dominican Republic -- SS Oscar Tejada, Dominican Republic (bats right) -- RHP Anthony Alvarado, Venezuela All are 16 and will report to teh Dominican Academy.
