  1. I totally agree. If he turns out great he turns out great, if not it's a small cost compared to Matsuzaka. Also, the GG makes him a great late-inning replacement until his contract runs out. How old is he? 27?
  2. The geography definately makes sense, as emntioend before putting them in between a handufl of major areas.
  3. Tito ahs to elarn to use his relievers and utility players at the right tiems, the last couple of seasons, he seems to be playing favorites with his players (Timlin, Cora) and putting them in no matetr the situation.
  4. welcome, just fyi, tehres a forum for tehse intro threads, but hopefully youll be a gerat contributor ocne uyou get the hang of everything
  5. I think he's a good bench player, I wish eh ahd a bit more speed, but no one ever said or thought he was going to start anytime soon.
  6. The FO should also keep in mind not to go overboard on geiving away defense for offense, because then we're back to pre-July 31st in 04.
  7. IMO, this team has plenty of defense, and we lack tehreof in offense and pitching. Though the bullpen is a top priority, the problem enlies almost fully in the pen, and acquiring 1 good starter. The offense is basically Papi and Manny, with no otehr decent threat that can be respected as close as the two mentioned. If we can get Aramis Ramirez, and can trade Lowell for a decent arm for the pen, we kill 2 birds with one stone, getting a deepball threat and a (hopefully) reliable arm. Coco is an auto upgrade from himself last year so tehre's a solid leadoff, letting us move Youk into the second spot where he can be very dangerous. If we sign Lugo as spoken of, we have a solid lineup again and can focus on pitching for the rest of the off-season. CF Crisp 1B Youkilis DH Ortiz LF M. Ramirez 3B A. Ramirez C Varitek RF Pena SS Lugo 2B Pedroia This of-seaosn could very right or very wrong. Doing the mentioned would be a good step IMO, maybe shipping Lowell and otehrs to SD for Linebrink (who would be a very solid arm). The rest I can't see any obvious solutons.
  8. You think with the financial bind theyre in now, theyd make it more then 40 thou
  9. Well, tehy are also said to be interested in Matsuzaka, so that would take up a good sum off money.
  10. Phillip Hugehs seems a tadd high
  11. well, we got Lowell to back him up so I say offense, though I do love Gonzo
  12. I can see us geting Schmidt, but even so, we're deff gettin more than just Lugo.
  13. Idk, Jered Weaver doens't look like a fluke, I mean I think we can all agree Jered > Santana will ever be. I mean he put in a kickass half of the season, and he's more talenetd than Papelbon or Lester, IMO.
  14. Theyre sayin on Boston.com that if the Angels sign Barry Zito they might be wiling to ship off Jered Weaver or others for Manny Ramirez. I mean I know the Angels are in the AL, but Jered Weaver is sick.
  15. Well, with a great draft, we should only begin to see the rewards that coems with teh top draft. When all these guys mature, It'll be as exciting, if not more, than when Papelbon and Lester came up.
  16. Well, I geuss we know who's gunna win the MVP award as well. This is ******** n 1/2, who the hell decides who gets teh gold glove? the press?
  17. The Red Sox being bought by George Steinbrenner!
  18. Yes, sign Belli, otehrwise we'll have to trade for him again once we find out the enw guy can't catch the knuckleball. I mean what happened to the "best abckup cactehr in the Majors" tag he had before last year? He's still a evry good backup catcher, I mena it's not like we're looking for a starting catcher.
  19. Isn't Seanez on our team? Or am I living under a rock
  20. I agree, it was a very good draft, got a lot of good players in the latter rounds, and took good talent.
  21. Im excited about Bard, but I wanna see how Buchholz does, as he's had success and is further developed.
  22. he was roiding in oakland too
  23. RIP Red, thanks for everything, thank god my grandpops taped some of the games you coached in. Wel done, great life, RIP.
