I agree, there's two possible big holes in the lineup right there, and if Pena doesn't do decent, and we keep the corner infielders that we have, it makes for a pretty weak lineup. I eman tehre's a point to look out for defense, but don't let it cut into our lineup again. We can't just depend on manny and Ortiz.

You obviously did not read the book, you said they mentioned him less than 25% of the time, when the book was about him, they ahd differents ections in the book based on different parts of his life. I'm not disputing his talent, but he's not what he was 3 years ago. He'd have to adjust to pitchers in the AL, knowing him he'll sit out just to spite Terry or soemthing prickish like that. Yeah, it is an interesting idea having Bonds come here, but your talking about it as if it's 50-50, first you'd have to get past that he thinks we're racist, you'd have to convince the FO to inject some cancer into the clubhouse, you'd have to have Terry deal with even more headaches, and to learn how to juggle everyone. How does it hurt the team? I don't know, it most likely would, but it also could not. He'd be a personality to throw upon personalities (and we thought Manny was bad), he'd probably be traded by mid-season because no one likes him (could you imagine a Sox being booed like a Yankee at home?), and then he'd make a big scene about it and cause distraction for everyone else in the rginization. I'm not trying to sell the god damn book you just brought it up again and I specified my statement about it, and I don't give a s*** if you don't care about the book. No, his 1.000 OPS didn't suck, but his age is gettin close ot that number, all his stats are down, and his health continues to be a question. But whatever, if you want to keep goin on about someting thats not happening anyway (due to the fact that Bonds is a prick and wants to judge this fine city of Boston for how it used to be a few years ago) then go ahead, but I don't want to waste my time.

Okay, even though this is a non-issue, because he's not coming here, it's not even because he took steroids, Sheffield took steroids and Id rather have him. Bonds, however, makes Sheffield's whining look like a kid who just cut his knee. If you read Game of Shadows, it doesn't just talk about steroids, it talks about how he acts to everyone around him. In the clubhouse he has an entire section for himself, a lounge chair for himself, a TV, 3 lockers, and more. He threatens his girlfriends, pisses off all his teammates, and blames the media for it. Not to mention he wasn't even as big of an offensive threat last year like he was the years before. I think I'll pass.
