  1. Lest just hope he, Crisp, Schilling, and otehrs return to how they were 2 years agao.
  2. advertizing, red sox merchandise, tv in japan, tourism in boston, etc. I'm no marketing whiz, but it's not like there won't be money made.
  3. I wouldn't mind one of their relievers, people forget to look beyond Lidge.
  4. Ill take Shields OR Linebrink
  5. I geuss the Yankees weren't ntoified, they didn't seem to play as if they were meaningful
  6. What you mean the few games they missed before the Yanekes joined them? Yeah, i geuss thsoe don't count
  7. Shouldn't the yanks be in the biggest losers category? Seeing as they lost in the 1st round of the playoffs despite having 200 mill+?
  8. I disagree, Lugo has been in the AL, and even better the eastern division. He's more confident than ERent, and his cockiness should get him by in Boston.
  9. I liked the move, but this city has proved to be too unpatient to give up a starting job for the year, which is what I would want. If eh ahd more itme in the minors, he couldv'e turned out to be one of the best power hitetrs in the elague.
  10. Gave it a good run Paps, lets show em the hardware dont eman s*** next year
  11. I know, hence why we need a bigger power hitter
  12. Plus, we didn't buy anyone besides Matsuzaka, and that isn't even definite yet. The reason Theo brought him here was to develop his power and make him into what he's supposed to be (a 40 HR a year guy) and have him added to basbeall's most efared 3-4.
  13. yea, unelss we get soem kind of power threat at 1st or 3rd, we're probably battin WMP or Tek 5th.
  14. I agree, Im not sure if I'm for signing Drew, I mean he's not exactly young anymore, and Pena has more promise power-wise. I say go with WMP, and if needed get a RF mid-season.
  15. Id say bench, though it's a shame to waste such a talent.
  16. The only reason I ahev Crisp leading of is because of his speed, remember, don't take what he did last year too seriously. If eh has any type of season like he did before he was a Sox, then we'll be much better. I have Drew in the 5th because he is waay more protective of Manny then Youk is. Plus, Youk can drive pitchers crazy with his 10+ ABs. I think he will strike out less, and will continue to walk just as much as he does. I mean for his first full season in the Majors, he surpassed everyone's expectations.
  17. I would kill myself if I were an O's fan. I mean Jaret Wright? Is that the best they can do? I mean they should go out for some actual quality pitching.
  18. Id rather have him in the 5 or 6 hole, the 5 if we don't sign anyone else. Youkilis should be a great 2 hitter, he gets on abse, can advance the runner, and can make good contact. Plus, he doens't have the power of Drew. Crisp Youkilis Ortiz Manny Drew Varitek Lowell Lugo Pedroia Thats a pretty good improvement voer last eyar, though I dow ant a more true protector fo Manny.
  19. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/11/10/sox_may_pitch_their_attention_at_drew/ I used to love JD back when he was with the Cards, but his injury problems worry me, and his power isn't exactly 5-hole worthy
  20. Well, if he's this good and not even in his prime eyars he should convert to ehre fine. And not only does it get us a great pitcher for the upcomign season, but it also gets us into teh Far East market, gets us more revenue, maybe advertizing in Fenway like the Japanese did at Yankee Stadium, and also helps the city itself. So it is well spent.
  21. At least someone got the deserved reward, well done Manny n Tizzle
  22. New York gets right-handers Humberto Sanchez, Kevin Whelan and Anthony Claggett. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2006/11/10/yankees_trade_gary_sheffield_to_tigers/ If tehre was a trhead prior tot his, I didn't see it, so sorry
  23. I don't understand why Bud Selig can't say who had teh winning bid, it's not like it will affect the process.
  24. idk, the NYYFans rumor sems to be the least likeliest. I don't really care if teh Rangers win it. If we win it, I'll be very happy/suprised, if not, no big deal.
