    Yeah, we have a lot going for us. Cleveland, TB, and teh Sox are the main teams fromw hat Ive heard of. In CLE, he won't be closer, in Boston he will, TB is TB, nuff said. So it depends on how hard Boras pushes for the money, or if a team out of nowhere coems up with the cash and an open closer's spot.

    Doesn't mean negotiations are done, we'll be seeing a lot of Boras in the coming days, and I suspect one of teh topics will be gagne, especially if no other team ante's up 5/6 mill.

    And if you want to talk about trade value, try using whats been in your lives for three seasons. I mean teh Sox have gone through every off-season trying to find a trade of "equal value" and haven't found a deal yet since the ARod deal. It wouldn't be hard to trade Jones because the Braves would settle for Brad Penny and Betemit.

    Manny= consistent numbers, best RH hitter this side of Pujols, decent fielder, 40/100 threat every year, clutch - Headache form time to time, occasionaldefensive lapse Jones= good power threat, fantastic defense - .262 career hitter, .345 OBP, consistent 100 K seasons, has stopped stealing bases In terms of a team that had the fewest errors in the league, you are all forgetting how much Manny has improved defesnively, and don't forget all those assists he's getting from the OF. The speed factor comes out in the wash, as Jones has gone under 10 SBs the past few seasons, same goes for salary, as Joens expires after the season. The only clear edge Joens has is defense, and I think I'll take Manny with hitting

    Idk, Im pretty sure a 9 year streak of 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs makes him better. Are you seriosusly telling me if you had a team you'd rather want Andruw Jones, who is going to command a good portion of money this off-season anyway, over a proven veteran for sure HOFer?

    umm, idk, id like to say ive had 4 or more posts today so far, and maybe 20+ yesterday, oh and maybe the weeks before that, and soem time before that, you know the time before you came here? Whats your point? Let seabeach fend for himself, or if your gunna retaliate, use facts and wreck them in a sports argument. Its not like I like these new guys eitehr, but just get used to them, if theyre really all that annoying theyll get banned

    yeah, if we can get Jones, Loney and Broxton, Id say thats about as close as we're gunna get to fair value.

    You could split that championship equally between the two GMs. Yes Duquette borught in Tek, Lowe, Manny, Pedro, and otehrs. But Theo brought in Schilling, Ortiz, Foulke, Mueller and others. And how do his philosophies suck? His resume has been pretty good to this point, and he doens't even ahve a long enough track record to say his philosophies have gotten him nowhere. I mean he proved the whole importance of defense single handedly in 04, and that pitching wins over everything. His offensive theories ahve gotten him the top offenses in the AL for the year before 06. The only place he seems to struggle is the bullpen, which is not really his fault, I mean no one can predict Foulke's injury, or that others would fail.

    Depending on if we sign Matty and who closes for us, we could be back from our short leave out of the playoffs.

    Hes not underacheiving he just ahs a laid back attitude, and his defense is superb. Maybe he takes too many 3rd strikes, but he makes up for it by getting those walks.

    Not hitting into a lot of DPs isn't exactly hard for lead-off hitter when 1/4 of their ABs have no runners on. I'll give him the pitches part, but you coudl figrue Drew see's his share when he has his OBP 100+ points more than his average.
