  1. Wow three straight hits. I'm sure nobody wants to make an out now. Keep that merry-go-round goin!
  2. Well Arod actually (at least as the start of the game yesterday) has the most game winning RBIs in the AL with 9. Ortiz has 6. Now NomahsHammSammich- Congratulations on one of the most ignorant posts to pollute this board! I agree with the heating up in blow out games and putting too much pressure on himself late in the game, but the rest of your monologue there was a bit outrageous. As rbreg7 said, a "True Yankee" is defined on the field, not off of it. Look at the great Yankee teams of all time. The '27 Championship Yankees had guys like Ruth and Gehrig: true Yankees. The '56 Championship team: Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford. And so on and so on. All those guys are winners and exceptional players. Now I don't know how you jump from Arod being a model citizen to trashing Yankee fans but I will say that it's a bit ironic that you are judging how classy and aware of the game someone is.
  3. So Sheff just announced retirement in two years. The guy's so damn good I forget how old he is.
  4. This could be the result of one of the following: (a) We were posting on Yankee forums about the Yankees (makes sense, doesn't it?) ( We were enjoying the game and win without having to read Sox fans (ahem like you :harhar: ) bash every single inch of the organization © We are, indeed, sick pups that all hail from the psychiatric ward of the Bellevue Hospital in New York and it just so happened that we weren't allowed to go online during the time of the Yankee game and had to look at ink blots instead to discover the true workings of our inner, crazy, thoughts.
  5. In regard to a700hitter, it's normal, not acceptable but happens nonetheless, for a pitcher to not be as concentrated in a game when the score is 15-4 as opposed to a game when it is 2-1 or 4-4.
  6. Almost. He's the youngest Yankee to get to 2,000.
  7. Really that's a bit strange considering two of them played for the Red Sox recently.
  8. Well he joins an exclusive group of Yankees who have done it in pinstripes: the Babe, Lou Gehrig, Joe D, Bernie, Mattingly, Mickey Mantle & Yogi Berra.
  9. Not true, I think I'd want the ball stealer's autograph.
  10. That was me who referred to him as our rock and I'll say it again. Moose is our rock. Who else is it? Wang? No. Wright? hah No. The Unit? Definitely not. Moose has had 11 straight quality starts. I think he is allowed a bad inning here and there.
  11. No fair if the Royals get an extra inning.
  12. Now that is just pathetic. Nothing like losing to a team with 10 wins on the season lemme tell ya.
  13. Well now that you bring up WB Mason there's a question I have that I've been pondering for quite some time... Does the WB stand for "Who But" or is it just a catch phrase that so happens to be abbrv. to WB?
  14. 86 years of anger and aggression is bound to make a fan grumpy and spiteful :harhar: (kidding, just a joke...don't jump all over me now ahh!) Anyways, it doesn't really matter how he got it because he's going to get more. It's not like it was a cheap 75th homerun that sets a new single season record or something. It's an awesome personal achievement that is just one of the many amazing things he has done in the last decade. Congrats to him, major kudos, muy bien, and all that jazz.
  15. Yay Jeter! Joined an elite group of Yankees with that hit.
  16. This sucks. You can't underestimate the competition, no matter how pathetic their season has been.
  17. Yeah I was just joking, but thanks for the rundown anyway. I'm worried about the starting pitching but confident that things will fall into place. Just a spoiled Yankee fans way of thinking? Probably. But I'm not going to be pessimistic about it, although I'd be out of my crazy mind to think that the Yanks would have anything near a 16.5 lead
  18. Sure I saw it. He's damn freakin good, but still unproven. Let's see if his arm can hold until the post-season and beyond. Or at least if it can hold after he gets hit and loses some confidence. I know all the replys are going to come "He's the next Mo!" and "He's proven enough!" Yeah, I get it. He's awesome and looks unhittable, thus far at least. I am also a baseball fan, and it's fun watching a young guy like that be so good.
  19. Exactly. Still plenty of time to regain the lead and be up by 16.5 games by Sept :wetodd:
  20. Alright the Yanks need some insurance runs in the 9th
  21. Most definitely. Ortiz always hits a f***in homerun to tie or win it. I hate him. I can't watch. I want him on the Yankees! Ok this is me getting nervous. (Covers eyes)
