  1. Jeter shared a house with him during the WBC from what I heard.
  2. Since when does the NY POST speak for most fans? Remember its the Post. "Hacks" as Schilling calls them and most of the NY media.
  3. Yeah because he really wants to play in Boston because of the announcers/former players? Matsui, Jeter, Williams, Mussina, Rivera, Posada, and Giambi, he also knows the organazation and chances are they will give him a blank check. Not to mention how he has said how he wants to go into the HOF as a Yankee (Doubt they let him).
  4. While thats a plus its also a negative when you think about it. The Roger probably has more ties with the Yankees then the Red Sox.
  5. I doubt the Yankees really care now.
  6. Intresting, I didnt know that about Nipper. I'm sure with Roger it will be the most $$$ will win him over. ESP with the Astros struggling now.
  7. Just curious......what do you guys think is the draw for Clemens to come back to Boston? The only one I could think of that he cant do with the Yankees or Astros is passing Cy Young on the Red Sox wins list.
  8. Boy I'm glad the Yankees signed Carl Pavano instead of Clement. Atleast Pavano cant hurt us from the DL . God they both suck.
  9. I think the better question is if your going to have Long in the line up why at DH? Play him in RF. I'm sure he has better range then Sheffield (and as I type this I remember Sheff's nice catch today).
  10. Torre has to remember Small is starting tomorrow. I doubt he gets thru 6 maybe not even 5.
  11. Its amazing how bad he manages the pen sometimes. Then in the second half of the season Torre sits in his damn office and wonders why is relivers are burned out. Just ask Paul Quantrill.
  12. Is Torre kidding me? Why is he taking him out? The pen is taxed and Randy is only at 91 pitches. Give him a chance to work out of it.
  13. Your right but its certainly encouraging. Its not like hes 1 hitting the Royals either.
  14. Your right he looks like a different pitcher today. Everything from stuff to attitude.
  15. Pudge breaks it up
  16. Its really amazing. Hes going through their lineup rather easily. Hes at 68 pitches.
  17. Lmao I cant believe I'm typing these words: Randy Johnson has a no-no thru 5 innings.
  18. I think we will know more about the Tigers when the month of June is over. They have 13 games with the Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox and Blue Jays. They also get the Cardinals at the end of the month. While I like their pitching I dont trust Kenny Rogers in big games down the strech, Todd Jones as closer? and we dont know how Verlander and Zumya will respond to tough games down the strech. Remember this, everyone loved the Guardians last year but when the games got tougher that young team couldnt hack it . Its nice to be pitching well in April and May but things change in September. They still have alot to prove before I consider them contenders for anything.
  19. Thats the first I have heard that. I doubt Posada has the range for 2B anymore(if he ever had it). If Posada is going to move anywhere it will prob be 1st base. Then again we have seen how that works (see Mike Piazza).
  20. Bernie will prob retire after this year or next year. Either way he wont be around when Jeter is 37ish. Giambi only has 3 years left on his deal counting this year so the same goes for him.
  21. You bring up some good points. I look at Jeter and I think he can be a productive player at SS for awhile. For arguments sake lets say his defensive skills erode at age 36. The Yankees can then maybe split him at 1B and DH almost like they do with Bernie right now(except he plays the OF and Bernie really doesnt have the pop for a corner OF anyway.). Maybe by that time you move A-Rod back to SS and move Jeter to 3rd. There are alot of options. I heard this somewhere and I'm gonna have to do the math but if he gets 150 hits per year untill hes 38 he will get to 3000 hits. IMO he can get that done.
  22. Agreed, at the end of the day it comes down to health and how long the player wants to play. Look at Lou Gehrig. He would have gotten to 3000 hits. Don Mattingly finished with only 2153 hits. If he doesnt have that cronic back injury who knows how many hits he gets. Jeter has been healthy for most of his entire career, if he stays healthy and plays untill hes 38 or 39 I think he gets there.
  23. Enough of the BS. Lets get back on topic. Good win for the Yanks today. It looks like A-Rod is starting to get hot and with Sheffield still trying to get his timing down we need A-Rod to be consistant for us. I also like the swings Giambi has been taking lately. I sense a hot streak coming even with us going into Detroit which should be alot of fun.
  24. You pretty much nailed it for the most part. I was only joking with him or "busting his chops" as he would put it and he took it the wrong way. There is nothing he can do to stop her from making those remarks which is why I made my remarks. I think I understand now. We should sit back and let him criticize the Yankees and not say anything back. I got it 700. The ignore list can really come in handy.
