With Kenny Rogers pitching today I'm not sure who they would be starting in game 1. Prior to today they were saying Rogers, Verlander, Robertson and Bonderman. The Yankee roation however is now set. Wang, Mussina, Johnson and TBD (Most likely Wright).

I'm not saying the Yankees are going to destroy the Tigers however this is the best possible matchup for them.

Well if we are going to put Smith in for his defense lets also let in Keith Hernandez. He is by far the best 1st basemen I have ever saw(defensive wise). I dont see him getting in anytime soon. Baseball Refrence does this hall of fame moniter thing which measure how worthy current players are compared past players: http://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/hof_monitor.shtml Jeter will be well worth of this honor when his career comes to a close. But dont let it stop you from going to Cooperstown 10 or so years from now and protesting his selection.

Big development in Detroit. The Tigers blew I believe a 6-0 lead and KC now leads 8-7. If they lose and the Twins hold on to their 4-1 lead the Yankees will face the Tigers on Tuesday.
