  1. I remember Peter Gammons was talking about an MRI that Beckett took and he said something like it looked like a train wreck. That said I doubt every pitcher in the majors have clean MRI's. He made every start this year so I guess hes fine.
  2. Hill is good but if I'm trading A-Rod I want a prospect along the lines of (I'm just throwing names out there) Homer Bailey, Scott Elbert, Chris Volstad, and Yusimero Petit. If the Yankees could it would be nice to get a younger catcher to back up Jorge. He put up a good season but the decline is likely to begin very soon.
  3. What the hell are you talking about? Passing the buck? Since you are very critical of my trade proposal I asked you to throw an idea out there. Do you think the Yankees are worried about how the trade works for the Cubs? The Yankees so far arent shopping A-Rod. Clubs are coming to them. They only care about what makes sense for them. I'm looking at it from the Yankees stand point. To be honest I dont even want to trade A-Rod anymore. Like Rican said we arent going to get equal value so whats the point? His offensive numbers this year were down but it was better then most AL 3rd basemen. That tells you how great of a player he really is and I refuse to take anything less then equal value.
  4. What do you think is fair for A-Rod? A-Ram for A-Rod? Thats crazy esp when consider they wil move him back to SS. 50 HR's from a SS is ultra valuable. I want a great pitcher and a replacement for him. Otherwise it makes no sense to move him. You label me as unreasonable but why dont you throw out a "fair" trade that makes sense for both sides because outside of Zambrano and Aramis I dont see a match and I'm not taking Mark "my arm hurts" Prior.
  5. Your comparing A-Rod's 2nd worst season to one of ARam's best season. What was A-Rod's VORP and Win Shares last season?(If your wondering what they are A-Rod's VORP last season was 91 and win shares was 37.) I understand your point about the pitching but there is no incentive to trade the 2 time MVP if I'm not getting a great pitcher in return.
  6. or? how about both and more?
  7. I agree 100%. All of this s*** goes away if the Yankees have a David Cone going in game 4 and not Jaret Wright etc.
  8. Awwww I wonder if A-Rod also needs his hand held when crossing the street or his mouth wipped when he drools or when he takes a dump I wonder if he needs Jeter to wipe his ass for him too.
  9. Abreu should stay. He did a great job for us when he was traded here. He provides a high OBP and plays a solid RF. Keep him.
  10. Check out Sheffields #'s in the playoffs. Atleast Prior to 04 A-Rod did hit somewhat in the playoffs. Sheffield has never hit in the playoffs and he was still coming back from an injury. You might need to get out from under the rock.
  11. Torre's management of the 2003 world series and the 2004 ALCS led directly to them losing those series. The 2004 ALCS might have been the worst managed playoff series I have ever seen. In 2005 it took miracle proformences from Small and Chacon to make the playoffs in 2005 so you can make the case they should not have made the playoffs last year and if they didnt make the playoffs last year he would have definitely been fired. Now 2006 speaks for itself. Yesterday was a disgraceful proformence. They were not ready to play yesterday and the Tigers flat out kicked their ass. I didnt even talk about how Torre murders the pen. Ughhhhh Goodbye Torre.
  12. I think this team has a lot of changes ahead of it and I think it begins with Torre. These last 3 years in particular has been horrible flops. 2004 speaks for itself.....2005 it took them untill July to start playing fairly well and they needed miracle proformences from guys like Aaron Small and Shawn Chacon to make it. If you are truly honest with yourself they should not have made the post season and 2006 they went out there and got out played in pretty much every part of the game. I think this team also needs major changes in the pitching department. Out with the old and in with the new. I have been in favor of resigning Mussina however I am now against it. Let him walk and take the draft picks. Clearly they need to buy Jaret Wright out of his contract. Let Cory Lidle go as well. They also need to some how get rid of Carl Pavano. He hasnt pitched for this team in a year plus and I can still feel his horrible presence. Unless Randy Johnson retires there is really nothing you can do about him so that leaves you with Randy and Wang and go from there. The bullpen is also a problem that needs to be addressed. There isnt much wiggle room with the offense. Clearly you let Sheff walk and I would explore an A-Rod trade.
  13. Yeah I really dont see how A-Rod could come back here. Believe it or not hes actually had a worse postseason then last year. Trade him get a top pitching prospect that you can pair with Hughes.
  14. Yeah, Wright will be gone. However I think it starts at the top. I think the Yanks should dump Torre.
  15. and the long offseason begins today.
  16. Kenny Rogers......amazing Anyway looking to tomorrow trying to be optimistic Jaret Wright I believe had a 2 ERA in September so he has pitched well and Jeremy Bonderman hasnt pitched well. Also there have been times during the season where the Yankees have laid an egg weather it was losing 22-0 or getting bombed by the O's prior to the 5 game set in Boston and everytime they have anwsered the bell the next day. Tomorrow is a new day and you can bet Torre wont stick to that "Rivera is only a 1 inning pitcher" BS that he was talking about.
  17. Damn Bernie just missed one.
  18. Did Joe Morgan classify his broadcasting career as legendary?
