  1. I wonder what's more pathetic, the real Royals or my Royals?
  2. Today was certainly impressive, he had that sinker working and kept all his mistakes down in the strike zone. Hopefully, he can build on this and be the pitcher we need him to be.
  3. So, he can only hit HRs when we're losing? Don't bother answering that question; I know that you people think A-Rod can't do anything right, so don't waste your time or mine.
  4. Okay, last night convinced me we need Clemens in pinstripes. I know it will be expensive, but I've come up with some ways to pay for his contract. 1) Sell Lower Manhattan 2) Sell Torre's green tea supply, make him buy the generic stuff. 3) Place seats on the facade and big bat (putting seats on the stadium trademark worked for Boston.) 4) On off days, rent out players to small market, college, high school, and little league teams. (With Johnny in center, it will be the first time a kid has scored from first in tee-ball.) 5) Demote Jaret Wright to the new Z affiliate: Baghdad Bombers. If he doesn't, uh, dissapear after a while...start paying him in Iraqi dollars. I'm not sure how we'd pay for the other 2/3rds of the contract, but I'm sure Cashman will find a way.
  5. That's not true. This is the first time I'm putting some of the blame on an ump this season, and I don't think you'll find another example of anybody else doing it so far neither.
  6. Time to pound another Cy Young winner... Actually, I'd prefer if we could win without scoring a bunch of runs...just to see if it's possible.
  7. The fact is we didn't last night. The offense wa embarassing, defense and managing was questionable, but if the ump doesn't blow that call the game is tied and anything could have happened. I'm not saying we lost solely because of that, but it certainly played a major role in the game's outcome. To say it didn't would be downright foolish.
  8. Where did I say they didn't? I was just pointing out a horrible call on the part of a horrible ump. That guy had one of the most inconsistent strike zones I've ever seen.
  9. Last night easily could go down as a "Torre loss." I mean, I was fuming with anger over some of his decisions last night. What was he thinking!? Yankees are down by two, runners on first and second, no outs...and he doesn't have Bernie bunting?!?! Are you kidding me? And then, after Bernie hits into a rally killing DP, he doesn't put Bubba out in right field in the 8th?! You need defense late in close games, and Joe didn't give this team that. Pathetic managing and umps lost last night's game; the bats going back to sleep didn't help, though it wasn't surprising considering they were going up against a no-namer.
  10. Actually, only two words are needed: horrible umps.
  11. Randy Johnson has not walked a batter in 20 innings this season. (I've been looking for a place to bring this up)
  12. I guess no one can accuse me of showing up just because things looked bright for the Yankees.
  13. I wonder what happened the day before I registered on the board.
  14. You have our deepest sympathies.
  15. You get an "A" for effort.
  16. I'm not a huge Kay fan. I prefer games when YES has Katt and Murcer in the booth; it's always enjoyable. I really enjoy when they have Paul O'Neill in the booth, though it doesn't happen that often.
  17. Is there a clause restricting head first slides?
  18. Red Sox OF are falling faster in 2006, than Yankee SP in 2005.
  19. Bronson now has more HRs than Manny.
  20. Yeah, I like the on field interview too. On a seperate note, I can't believe Bob Sheppard missed Opening Day. I just found out, but I thought something sounded weird during the 7th inning stretch. I hope he gets well soon and can be at the next homestand.
  21. Ouch. That looked painful.
  22. Derek Jeter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9 - 7 Yankees
