  1. No, just a pretty bad pitch.
  2. Not to mention, he has Manny behind him. I mean, I don't know who'd want to put a runner on for free with Manny coming to the plate.
  3. Every team fears Ortiz.
  4. I've always wondered why the Yankees have never hit Ortiz or at least come close so he wouldn't be so comfortable in the batter's box.
  5. It's true though, that's why they butt heads so much.
  6. They're basically the same person, they just root for different teams.
  7. I'm starting to think we should trade Sheffield. It doesn't look like his option will be picked up (a move I support) and that's just going to lead to (more) trouble, the kind of stuff a team doesn't need when making a championship run (granted, we would need his HR's and RBIs but we seem to be doing fine without them right now.) I'm sure we could get something pretty nice for him and a package of par minor league players.
  8. Not to mention, there's John Flaherty; he's been great so far and is supposed to be in the studio for the next series. I think Torre is starting to see the light, he seemed pretty upset yesterday.
  9. At which point do you wake up?
  10. When Pavano or Dotel come back, Sturtze better be DFA-ed. If someone like Scott Proctor is sent down instead, I will be upset.
  11. I was thinking more about the streak of Mussina and Chacon.
  12. Let's hope Wang can continue the streak of impressive starting pitching.
  13. Last night's game was great. Chacon, after a rocky start, is picking up where he left off in Spring Training and last season. He's won his last three starts (all against pretty good offensive teams) and has brought his ERA under 4. Johnny and Bubba made some good plays in the outfield. Then, unlike Friday night, the relievers came in and kept the game from becoming interesting. Proctor continues his run, allowing two hits in two innings, and bringing his ERA even lower (1.40.) And it looks like A Rod and Matsui are starting to break out of their slumps, which is great news.
  14. Wow, meltdown by the bullpen in the 8th almost costs the Yankees the game. Well, let's score some runs.
  15. Moose pitched another gem tonight. 7.0+ IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 5 K His control has been incredible: of the 86 pitches he threw tonight, 62 were strikes. He's in line for his 5th win and a 2.35 ERA.
  16. Damon Grand Slam!
  17. Catchy tune.
  18. Remember that hypothetical sitaution you brought up earlier, about being able to pitch for the D-Rays without an arm? Yeah, well, I'd rather have that person pitch in the 8th than Sturtze.
  19. Oh, thank god. Now I don't have to send that nasty letter to Joe Torre....today.
  20. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Why Joe?! Why?!
  21. A-Rod HBP...I'll take it!
  22. DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN
  23. You'd think people who dislike the Yankees would have come up with something more creative by now. I mean, there is plenty of room for improvement.
