  1. Melky.
  2. He's from the Minors.
  3. Myers, what are you good for? Proctor could have done that. Villone could have done that.
  4. The Phillies should walk Giambi...A-Rod is on deck.
  5. That's good, though. This team always usually loses when A-Rod comes through in the clutch.
  6. Moose gives it right back.
  7. I would say you've done a pretty good job of disproving that. Seriously, though, if some of you think the Red Sox don't have plenty of obnoxious and bandwagon fans, you're kidding yourselves. It's naturally going to happen with a team who consistently produces and is in a large market. There are plenty of reasons to dislike the Yankees, I'm sure, but disliking them because of this stereotype of Yankee fans is just ridiculous (especially when it can so easily be turned on Boston.)
  8. How many second baseman in contention for the all star game have no errors?
  9. Pathetic. No excuse for going .500 (if we're lucky) against two NL East teams not from New York.
  10. I don't really have any problems with Varitek. I think the fight was an unfortunate incident, that's not a reflection on him as a whole.
  11. I've caught World Cup fever and I don't like it one bit. http://www.nypost.com/img/back061806.gif ^Don't see that too often in baseball.
  12. No, he's just playing with broken bones in his foot (a major component for quick guys and OF.) Because I've seen plenty of "Coco's Better" shirts, and not so many that say "Kevin's Better."
  13. I debated whether or not to put Damon's numbers up, but decided against it.
  14. I imagine if he continues to dominate the minors (and has a good Spring Training in 2007) we could see him some time next year. I think I read somewhere that the Yankees wanted to give him a full year at AAA.
  15. Like I said earlier today to a good friend, I would rather see this guy pitching for us in 2006 than deal him for someone like Dontrelle this season. I know it's a season or two away, but I can not wait until we see Hughes take the mound in the big leagues.
  16. I can't be too upset about today's loss. Wang pitched a great game (third in a row) and would have received the "W" if the bullpen hadn't been burned out by Torre/Chacon yesterday. One thing that gets me: A-Rod came through in the clutch....and we still lost... If this series has taught us one thing it's that, come July, it would not be a smart move for the Yankees to waste time on finding an OF (we can survive with Melky, Bernie, etc.); any move that's made should be centered around pitching, period. Whether it's a competent arm for the bullpen or someone who can pitch more than 5 innings in a start (novel ideas, I know), we need that kind of deal to happen to have a dream of doing something in October.
  17. http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-spyside0618,0,5169595.story?coll=ny-sports-mezz Wow, I had no idea this was going on (I didn't even know Andy was married.)
  18. It's easy when your manager doesn't understand how to manage a bullpen.
  19. If this team was a dog, and I was George Steinbrenner, I would have taken them out back yesterday...and come back alone. ...I don't know why I'd have to be George Steinbrenner, but still... Okay, seriously, all I have to say about yesterday's game is...wasn't that soccer match exciting?
  20. I'm a bit upset with Torre's lineup for today. I was hoping for something like this: Damon Williams Jeter Giambi Posada Cano Melky Chacon Rodriguez
  21. Between JJ, this guy, that Oakland A's player, and Pittsburgh's QB....I really think this week has proven to us that athletes should not be allowed behind the wheel.
  22. An interesting quote from that article... I don't know if he was saying he'd just take the kind of player A-Rod is or, in a deal, he'd actually take A-Rod and whatever part of his contract. Oh well, A-Rod's not going anywhere. Regardless of whether or not there are any teams that want him, I don't think the Yankees would trade him or he'd agree to it (I assume he has a no trade clause.)
  23. Well, all things considered, things are going pretty good for this team right now. They continue to have sole possesion of first place, thanks to our friends in Minnesota. LUck definitely seems to be playing a role at the moment(I don't know what else you can call the Sox going on a 4 game losing streak right after our 4 game losing streak.) Anyways, the team is coming off a good series to end the homestand and now get to battle out the powerhouse known as the NL East (or the only division with one .500+ team at the mnoment) for the next two weeks or so. Let us hope it stays warm (Randy is a completely different pitcher when the mercury is rising) and A-Rod himself can heat up (heh, I did not plan this sentence out.) If those two players can begin playing like they are capable of, and guys like Cano, Wang, and Melky continue their streaks of brilliance, this team is in pretty good shape (I thought I'd have to wait until 2007 to say that in the initial wake of the Sheff, Matsui, and Pavano losses.)
  24. Not really. It's louder (maybe not in this case) but most players, I imagine, don't mind being booed on the road (fans of other teams don't boo bad players.)
