We need a win today (easier said than done against Kazmir.) I don't know what we're going to get out of Wilson tomorrow, so I'd feel alot more comfortable with the series already won.
George Steinbrenner needs to give himeslf a nice little birthday present: relive the old days and force a manager to resign (or just give him the boot.) Then find one capable of managing a bullpen; that'd be the gift that just keeps on giving.
Torre needs to get 5 innings from Chacon. I don't care how many pitches he has to throw. You can't get 7/8 innings out of your bullpen twice in a week...
Edit: Wait, that would mean not killing the bullpen...of course Torre wouldn't do that. Our genius manager takes out Chacon after he throws less than 60 pitches. Horrible.
Meanwhile, Philip Hughes continues to dominate AA.
Last start: 4.2 IP*, 2H, 0R, 0ER, 2BB, 9K
Last 5 starts: 37.2IP, 16H, 3R, 3ER, 11BB, 45K, 0.73 ERA
*The Yankees have placed him on a 5 inning/ 80 pitches (whichever comes first) per game limit.
Today's a big day. Besides being our nation's and George Steinbrenner's birthday, today marks the 67th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's historic farewell address to baseball.
