    Lol seriously? Complaining about the pitch clock in saying the game is already 3 hours long? Imagine if there wasn't a pitch clock. It would be close to 4 hours long by now

    The MLB avg last year was 253 for RISP. 2/8 = 250 so you can't expect that much better than that when in comes to that

    I have no high expectations for this year so if they manage to make the playoffs it would be a win for me. Our defense in the outfield is going to be one of the worst in the league if Kike stays at SS. I am liking this new pitch clock thing I must say. No more pitchers funding the dog for a minute after a pitch

    It's not even close. Ellsbury was by far better defensively than Duran EVEN when he first came up. Duran posted a DRS of minus 7 last year. Ellsbury was a +3 in 2008. The Sox outfield is going to be s*** this year with Verdugo and Duran. Kike won't be enough to save them

    Yup, I've said many times they screwed the pooch on this. This was before all the crazy contracts were out. Bogeys contract could have been reworked and probably signed for under 200 million. Now they don't have either. Now the FO signs Devers and over half the people will praise Bloom when in reality that was also botched as an overpay in hopes that fans forget all the other crap deals he has made. And people keep saying oh, well how could we guess Story would get hurt. Cause his elbow was f***ed prior to coming here! But hey let's sign him and get rid of Bogey.

    Devers stinks on D. Since 2018 he's dead last on DRS with minimum 1000 innings played. Paying someone over 300 Million with no D is terrible. He's basically a DH. His WRC is 49th since 2018. Heck, Giancarlo Stanton has a better WRC than he does. You don't pay over 300 Mil for a player unless he's upper tier when it comes to performing

    Bogey would have signed for probably 180 to 200 Million before they got story wich is not a lot more than story. Contracts weren't as crazy last off season

    I was never a fan of giving 300+ million to Devers simply for the fact he only impacts the game with his bat. Which is obviously important as they need to score runs but when you look at guys like Betts, Trout, Machado, Arenado they impact the game in many ways. What happens if Devers has a few down years with the bat? At least if he was a top notch Defender he would still have an impact. Many are also saying he will be a DH in the near future. Quite a process tag for a DH.

    You're all missing the point. You can go on and praise the FO for this deal all you want but the fact is they f***ed up last year by signing story by instead reworking Bogeys deal which they could of gotten him way cheaper than what he just signed for this off season and shorter years. This team would look much better with XB and Devers than just Devers

    He's younger for sure which is obviously a good thing but to say he's better is incorrect. XB has been the Sox best player since Mookie left. Obviously I would have not signed to what San Diego BUT they could of signed him for probably under 200M last year and they screwed the pooch

    Meh, not a fan of this contract simply for the fact that they did this to avoid another cluster f*** with what happened to Mookie and Bogey. They gave it to the wrong person. Doing this deal doesn't make up for the fact they screwed the pooch on Betts and Bogey. In fact it makes it worse. Devers is half the player Betts is and will be making about the same money. Great work Henry and Company to sign a player to a massive deal who's not MVP caliber unlike Betts. And in a few years will look even worse when he's a DH . But I get it, they needed to get this done as they couldn't afford to lose another home grown talent.

    If I read correctly as it stands right now the Sox will be #13 in team payroll. For a team that was constantly near the top this is very interesting. Could Henry be selling the team?

    St Louis isn't making that trade. Why would St Louis trade 2 players for unknown production of Chris Sale. That's like me going to Vegas and throwing my life savings on the roulette. Way to risky

    Looks like a slow news day so they figured they would do a story on this. The only way this happens is if Bloom eats a chunk of this contract. I don't see this happening. If it does and no other players involved Bloom has lost his mind. You have to see what Sale can give you.
