Yet to play a road game on friday, and the home game on this friday they wore the retro uniforms for the celebration.

I think it's foolish to think that a team with this talent potential doesn't have a shot to make the playoffs.

I know we are only 14 games into the season and we have had some pretty depressing losses. Our bullpen has been complete s*** so far, but I feel like with a few moves here or there, possibly resulting in Bard being our closer and Hopefully Baliey coming in to take the 8th when he comes back, it could end up being pretty good back there. Honestly my biggest concern right now is Clay Buchholz. He has not looked good in any of his outtings so far. He seems to have pretty decent stuff (good fastball velocity) but his location is totally out of whack. Now hopefully the coaches and Clay can identify this problem and make a quick fix, but I am not so sure. Hopefully this isn't another 2008 when a bad start to the season spirals. We all know that Clay has what it takes to be a really good starter on this team, but right now he concerns me more than anything. Clay Buchholz has to be good for the Red Sox to turn this thing around.

Wouldn't it be great if Bard went out and dominated the Yanks tomorrow night. That would be quite a statement from the back end of the rotation.

What do you guys think Felix's ceiling is? Could he be a 1-2 guy in a rotation? He seems like he has the stuff and composure to be very good, IMO.

Ryan Sweeney's swing sort of reminds me of what I saw from Wade Boggs... Granted I didn't see much of Boggs play, so I don't know if that is a valid comparison.

When Dubrount is on he pounds the strike zone, that is great to see. I think he can be a very good 3rd starter in this league.

I'm really excited for the Bard CC matchup on sunday. I have a feeling the Yanks are going to work Bard to death though.

It's very weird. For the first time since I have been a fan of the Red Sox my excitement level has not risen because the Yankees are in town this weekend. I don't know if it's because the Red Sox are playing so s***** my interest in the team is down, or just because the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry has been dull since after the 2004 ALCS. In sure watching the ceremonies tomorrow will hopefully spark my interest back up.

I wouldn't mind a new direction for the club personally. As long as they brought a commitment to winning along with them. I wonder if a new owenership group would also bring back the talks for a new ballpark.
