    When you have Manny and Ortiz, Beckett, Schilling, and wake plus a closer like Papelbon you should be in W.S contention, and If Varitek did not go down I bet we would still be tied or ahead of the Yankees.

    I know we just got swept by the Royals and lost 2 out of 3 to the D-rays, but I still think we can overtake the Yankees or win the Wild card. Firstly we have Curt Schilling, who will have much more good starts than bad starts. Josh Beckett has to turn it around now, he obviously has the stuff to do it. We have a huge week coming up starting with the O's tonight, a team we do great against. I think D-wells will continue to get better and be big down the strech. We are only 3 games out of the Divison and 2 Out of the wild Card, and we have 5 games with the Yankees next weekend, say we win 4-5 or something, we would be right back in the race. Also Wake will be back soon (I think, and hope) and V-tek should be back on september 1. All I'm saying is this team is not dead yet

    The way I see it is that the 2004 team was a one time deal. It was a very old and veteran team that had to have a win now mentality, and they did just that. I am a fan of Theo, who after we got our w.s. things had to change. No more bad contracts (yes I think 50 million for both Pedro and Damon are bad contracts.) I love that this team has gotten younger, but we are still very good, and if Wake and Tek get back we could make a W.S run. I am Theo's biggest fan (except for, Clement Seanze and Taverez)

    fans on NYYfans.com are so freaking jealous, saying that Ortiz isnt as good as every one thinks. Papi should have been the MVP last year, and if he continues this and the sox make the playoffs, there is no question who the MVP is this year
