    Mike Lowell had a big 2 run hit last night, and V-tek made good contact all night. Drew does not have to swing at pitches out of the zone, that is just stupid.

    I will agree that Beckett didn't have his best control, but the umpire had a tremdously tight strike zone last night. I probably counted about 10 pitches for Beckett that could have gone either way, and he got none of them. He featured a good changeup last night, and he snapped off about 4-5 good curveballs. Remy was commenting about how hard it is to throw breaking balls in the cold, so I think he will be fine. I would give him a B for last nights performance.

    I hope Dicek dominates today in the nasty cold weather. We should be able to put up some runs against Greinke today. I predict Manny will go yard, and Matsuzaka will pitch 7 innings walking two, striking out 9 and allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.

    I have actually been wondering the same thing. He kind of left after the Pats lost to the Colts if I'm not mistaken. Yeszir must have designated him for assignment.

    I was about to post something to that magnitude. I think it's always been clear that Manny overall is a better hitter, it's just that Papi does it in the clutch so the attention is taken off of Manny from fans and the media. Which is how Manny likes it, I would presume.

    If the game is rained out tommorow that would be horrendous, it is snowing up here in Maine and I get a snow day tommorow, so I was planning to sleep until about 1:00 watch the pre-game show, DiceK, and then watch my Black Bears in the Frozen four. That would equal one hell of a day.

    Disukae tommorow, it's going to be very exciting. I wonder if he will have trouble getting his breaking pitches over with the cold weather. It would be great if he went out and dominated tommorow.

    Barring injury, I think Drew is going to be an excellent player here. He is going to get an oppurtunity to drive in 120 runs. If he can capitalize this is going to be a great offense. I have the same feeling with Drew right now, even when he is standing in the batters box.

    Didn't Lowell make some uncharateristic errors in ST as well?

    I think Beckett was really squeezed tonight. They're were a lot of pitches that were really close. Also when it's 30 degrees its probably hard to throw a good curve ball.

    Even though Lowell was brutal tonight, I won't be worried unless he has about 10 at the allstar break.

    Good game tonight, good to see the offense hit a little bit, and Beckett didn't melt down in the 4th inning like he would have last season. 1-1! Only 0.5 back!

    Crisp did get on base to start things in the 7th, I think he will have a decent year, which would be good because then we could deal him for a nice return and put Jacoby in CF in 08.

    The bullpen has done a very nice job. I wonder who gets the boot when Timlin comes back. Both Romero and Lopez have looked really good, and so didn't Synder tonight. Let's see how Pinerio does tonight here in a mop up roll.

    If Beckett can give us 7 tonight, that would be superb. I can't wait to see him pitch tonight, and I hope the offense can give him a little support tonight.

    Cantu's big year was actually in 2005, and he broke his arm last year that caused him to miss 60 games and he still still hit 14 hrs, with 62 RBIS. I am actually not sure if his injury was an arm injury or a foot injury but never the less this guy is probably not washed up and it might not be a bad idea to take a flyer on this guy if Pedroia struggles in april.

    If we don't win tonight, then full panic will start to set around Red Sox nation, even though it is still way to early to panic.
