  1. Goodnews for the sox. This virtually means we will have the same team team on the field opening day as we did in game 1 of the world series. Which you almost never see these days.
  2. Havent you learned by now that winning takes pitching.?
  3. With out Boras at the table? Haha, that is just not going to happen.
  4. Then it's AROD, no question. He is the best player on the planet, why wouldnt we want that? Let's face it, nobody wants Lowell if it is for four years. AROD is just one of those players that is probably going to be great into his fourties. Let's sign him and have our offense basically all set for at least the next 4-5 years.
  5. If we can get Lowell for three years, then I say sign him to that deal. However, if he wants a four year deal I say no way. The guy is going to be 34 next year, and can not have as good a year next year as he did this year. He definately reached his peak value, and if he is unwilling to budge from his four year demands, I say throw a truck-load of money at AROD. Seriously this guy is the best player probably ever, and he is not slowing down. If we could get him, our offense would be so unbelievably incredible next season. In fact this post has made me change my mind all together, just sign AROD, and we are probably looking at another banner next season as well.
  6. My biggest problem with Jayhawks arguement IMO, is when he says that the Sox would have won 102 games if they hadn't made the Beckett deal. That is the biggest BS I have ever heard. Ramirez did put up good numbers in 06, but who is to say that he would have put up the same numbers here? I know its hard for you sabermetric people to believe, but pressure does exist, and there is a little more pressure in Boston than Florida wouldnt you think? Hey we all know that Hanley is going to be a great SS, but we would not have won the 06 WS with the Rotation we had, and last time I checked Hanley couldn't heal the injured. Also to say that Anibel would have pitched well here is also a ridculous statement. I doubt he would have made much of an impact at all with of 06 Sox. You know the last time I checked 2006 was in the past, and we just won the WS this year. If I was you I would just enjoy, and they realize how amazing Josh Beckett was in the postseason for us this year. Seriously, we are the Red Sox, we have the money to be consistent for the forseebable future. Also the last time I checked we have a pretty bright future with the likes of Ellsbury, Perdoia, Buchholz, Moss, and Lowrie. Seriously enjoy the fact that the FO has made this a perinal contendor for the next 10 years.
  7. But that is exactly the point. The Sox did it because they have the money to put a supporting cast around Beckett. A damn good one I might add. You take the Ace 10/10. The Sox can buy hitting, true Ace pitchers come around once in a while.
  8. A.J. Burnet is not almost as good as Josh Beckett. Maybe they have similar stuff, but Beckett has put it together and is much more reliable than Burnett. The Red Sox DO NOT WIN THE WORLD SERIES without Josh Beckett period.
  9. So you massively over pay for Burnett instead of getting a better pitcher in Beckett for much less money. Seriously this trade was good for Boston.
  10. Nobody lost the trade. It was worked out for both sides. Like I have said earlier in this thread, you can always find hitting in FA or trades but ace pitchers are much harder to find.
  11. Did Gange ever have a clean 1-2-3 inning with the Red Sox? If he did it wasnt many at all. Let's face it, he didn't pictch well here. Maybe it was his arm not being used to throwing so many innings or maybe its because he just isnt that good. It's probably a mix of the two, but I still don't want to see him on this team next year.
  12. Was there ever any chance that Gange would be back next year?
  13. I would do 3-40 million in a heartbeat for Lowell. With how inflated the market has gotten, that would be a pretty sweet deal.
  14. This is good news for the sox. They get Schilling at a cheap price, and it also shows that some guys just get it and love playing here. I am very happy about this move.
  15. I don't.
  16. I don't think it was a conspiracy against us, I just think it was incredibly s***** officating.
  17. Oh wait, I meant to say I'm glad we have a quarterback better than Montana. By the way Kilo if you think the refs were not horrible yesterday than you are being stupid. On another note, I would just like to say that your anti-patriots bias is probably just as strong as our patriots bias.
  18. There was like a 60 yard pass interferance against Wayne... I forgot who it was one but it lead to a field goal which could have been huge in such a close game.
  19. Other than a few big runs by Addai, did the Colts really play that much better? I see what you are saying though I did think we were going to lose when it was 20-10. I guess its a good thing we have Joe Montana reincarnated.
  20. To be fair to Brady, he had no time to throw at all in the first half. I put most of Brady's poor performace in the first three quarters on that fact. He didn't play great, but when you are on your back on most every play it is going to be hard to compile good stats.
  21. 75 of the penalty yards were completely undeserved. There is no denying that whatsoever.
  22. It's nice to see Brady getting back to his comeback days. It has been noticably absent over the last few years. Great win for the team, just proving who is the best team in the NFL this season. I think we would have won by 10 if the refs hadn't been horrible. Go PATS!!!!
  23. This game proved exactly why I would rather have Brady rather than Manning.
