    O-Cab and Gonzo is a toss up. Gonzo or Loretta? Please tell me you're kidding if you think Loretta is more valuable than Gonzo. Ask any pitcher on the Red Sox that question, they'll tell you the same thing.

    I think Zito could be dominant in the NL. An NL team might see tue value there and be willing to stick to their guns to outbid the yanks and sox. The Stro's, Mets and maybe the dodgers will have some money to spend this offseason.

    I'm not so sure that the Yankees will win any bidding war they decide to get into. I think the Sox have some spending to do. I know the yanks have deep pockets but I don't think they can write blank checks this year. PS - If you refer to the Yankees as the "Stinkees" ever again, I'll ban you. PPS - this is the most moderating ive ever done and it was a joke... well not a joke, more like kidding on the square. I don't have the authority to just up and ban someone... but I can kill you. Don't say "Stinkees" *whistles*

    I understand Matsuzaka has a rep. I fell in love with him at first and the things he did in Japan are ridiculous. Some of the strike outs I saw in clips are down right X-rated. I'm not going to cry if we sign him. I am sure he will be some form of good. That said, I think the Sox would be better off investing this money in Zito. Zito has proven that not only can he put up results year in and year out in the Majors, but he does it in the stacked American League. We don't even know if Matsuzaka can do it in the majors at all. I think he can probably hold his own with an ERA around 4.5 but I don't think Matsuzaka is going to come here and be a Cy Young contender. The Sox need swagger going into next year, not question marks. Matsuzaka, while a very good pitcher in Japan, is a question mark coming into the majors. We don't know how well he will handle that transition.

    In that case though you have to admit its worth the risk. Those two end up healthy and the 2005 Red Sox wouldn't have been 3 and out.

    Wow, he rejected 5 and 70? I don't think hes going to get much higher an offer than that. I think he might just be determined to test the waters.

    Matsuzaka plays with a smaller and lighter ball. Go for someone else. I dont trust it anymore.

    So much easier to be a yankees fan. Yankees fans know that Cashman and George are going to address their shortcomings in order to make another run next year. Can sox fans really say "In Theo We Trust?" right now? I can't. I can't say Theo is going to get us Speier or another bat, or another starter. I don't know. I know George is gonna get a frontline starter and probably a bat. I know that. Easier to be a yanks fan.

    It would allow you to get equal value, and then you even have an empty spot to sign a Soriano or a Lee. I still say no though. I personally value clutchness very highly. Arod is allergic to that stuff.

    He absolutely showed adjustment over the last month of the season. Take back that final start in a meaningless game and Josh had a very nice september and should feel pretty positive going into next year.

    I've been very busy and forgot to do this, but I did lose a bet to 700. He was quite right and I was very wrong. The Red Sox turned nothing around and continued to bomb despite my blind optimism. So, he was right. I'm sure there were other terms to this bet, things im supposed to say but I forget. Ill change my user title to a user title of his choosing, as soon as he posts it. I remember that one. Anything else, lemme know, 700.

    Gonzo and Cora mean more to me than Loretta, but I do like Loretta, I understand why he shouldn't come back, I just have a man crush on him. I think re-signing Gonzo is a big deal and the depth Cora gives you is a huge luxury. PS - everyone of you guys better tune into my new sports show I have on my colleges radio station. Ill post times and whine when no one is listening. Its broadcasted on the internet so its easy. You can read my whining and hear it too. It will be special.
