    Lowell makes $12 mil next year and Dice-K makes $8 mil next year and $10 mil the two following years. Where are they saving money? And Lowell CANNOT play 3B anymore on a regular basis and seeing as he's old, that won't change for the rest of his career so anyone saying they'll fill the 3B hole with Lowell just isn't correct.

I'm going strictly on the fact that the guys who have developed a pretty good farm system gave a 19 year old kid a four-team major league contract and a spot on the 40-man.

    I'm all for waiting until we actually see the guy play to make a judgement but the guys who have actually seen him play already decided he was worth a four-year deal. It's worked out well enough with Tazawa so far.

    How anyone wouldn't take a likely top 5 draft pick in 2011 over one more year of Richard Seymour is beyond me. Trust me, the Pats defense will be fine without him. It's all about the scheme

    I'd rather not see Youkilis at 3B long-term for the simplistic reason that he is so gifted defensively at first. But it's a lot easier to acquire a power bat that plays first as opposed to the third so seeing as Youkilis plays a solid enough third base, the answer really depends on who's playing first long-term. For example if the team acquires Adrian, it would be an absolute pleasure to have Youkilis at third.
