  1. id be very encouraged by a good outing from Timlin here. especially with Foulke doing well lately and Papelbon still mowing along
  2. I can totally see Seanez being the first Sox DFAed this season
  3. who exactly is Tito gonna go to in extra innings if it gets there? Seanez, Tavarez and Foulke all pitched last night
  4. its getting to a point where Timlin should come in in the beginning of the 8th and thats it. apparently, he cant deal with inherited runners or inherited outs
  5. goddamnit, home runs a plenty tonight
  6. dont worry about it, Timlin is in with no inherited runners and Paps in the 9th. we're good
  7. ladies and gentlemen.....MANNY has arrived. I expect them to come in bunches now
  8. I wont complain too much since we're 11-4 but it would be nice to get some run support for Wake every once in a while, especially when the knuckleball is dancing
  9. that sucks, I'm driving to Toronto on Saturday for the Sox/Jays game I would've really wanted to see my country's contribution to my beloved Sox. But it's nice to see he made a hell of an impression while he was with the big club
  10. very encouraging outing for Clement
  11. as long as the pitching stays the course, it's just been run support that's been the problem and Manny coming around would be HUGE for that
  12. Let's give it up for the unsung heroes of today as well. Youk got on. Lenny was solid. Foulke was encouraging.
  13. Mark f***ing Loretta!!!!!!!!! Welcome To Boston, Good Sir
  14. ive got a raging papelboner right now
  15. Damon is probably worth his $13 mil this year but the big question when he signed that deal was whether he would be a $13 mil player at the tail end of that deal. I still dont think he will
  16. he'll come around. he's too good not to
  17. Big minus: The starting pitching can't keep killing the team before they even get out of the gates. I know it's Clement and Wells and not one of our aces but this can't become a habit
  18. This is exactly what I've said all along that the Sox would be fine even through the turmoil of the off-season. All that matters is pitching. Starting pitching, the rotation is phenomenal. It doesn't get much better than a healthy Schilling and Josh "the yankee killer" Beckett. As far as the bullpen goes, setup men don't get much better than Timlin, and a reliable closer is needed, whether that's Foulke or Papelbon. As far as run support, no lineup will struggle to score with Papi and Manny in it. I think this start is a sign of things to come as long as injuries don't kill us.
  19. I like Stern but I really don't want Coco out a month. I'll wait until a reliable source reports anything
  20. Paps cant mow em down in order every game but you still cant argue with the results. 5-1 record. 3 game sweep. onto fenway
  21. I say Foulke did his job, let Paps close it out
  22. how's that for a statement from Foulke? I like it a lot
  23. right now, he's Bellhorn with a ton more upside. being in the same clubhouse as manny and papi is only gonna help this kid, don't worry about him
  24. I was a big fan of how Tito used Foulke last night. We're still gonna get the run support where we're gonna wind up with big run leads late into games and that's a good spot for Foulke to get his stuff back. And he didn't look that bad last night and overall, hell, he's got the same ERA as K-Rod right now
  25. I don't care who is closing games as long as we can hang onto one-run leads. I think the best thing for Foulke right now is for him to get his licks in when we have big leads.
