    every single team is loaded with "ifs". thats why they play the games. The team that wins the World Series is whoever can put it all together in september and october and I think the Sox have the talent to go all the way if they can put it all together pop in a tape of the '03 World Series to see what Beckett can do in the playoffs

    the closer is the strength of the pitching staff so far this year by far so why would we mess with that? we could have 5 aces on the staff but it means s*** if the bullpen can't hold leads

    they left like what? 14 on base through 9? you can't do that and expect to win. Brain cramps by Loretta and Harris are more to blame for last night than Tavarez

    the bottom line about Lester is that he's walking a fine line with how many times he gets into jams. But like ksushi said, he'll ease into being a major league starter and learn to trust his stuff more and more.

    I think FOX had more to do with the decision to have home field go to the winner of the ASG rather than MLB. Personally, I would just award home field to whichever league wins interleague play overall. The ASG doesn't need to count for anything

    I can see this deal going down if its Nixon headed to Philly but not if its Delcarmen or Hansen, thats just not Theo's type of move

    I can respect that. I agree that there's no excuse for a pitcher of Beckett's caliber to have outings, multiple outings at that, like the bad ones he had.

    2-3 ridiculously bad starts have blown up Beckett's ERA. Aside from that, he's been on par with Schilling. The only problem has been the 2-3 solo dingers he gives up a game, but the same can be said for Schilling. I put Clement cause I had hopes for him. I thought that he could be a respectable back-end starter with a low 4s ERA

    Pedro's return game for sure and when we lit up RJ at the Stadium and won 14-3

    HUGE series win. This was a hell of a statement series win for all those who said we're overrated cause we owned the NL east.

    encouraging game. pitching wasn't the big problem this series, the bats going dead was and they finally broke out of that tonight so hopefully this gives some momentum for what should be a hell of a weekend series

    I don't think Trot will ask for unreasonable contracts the way Nomar, Pedro and Damon did. Considering he isn't young and his body is beat up, I don't think he's really in a position to demand a lot of years for a lot of money either. I see this more as being a situation like Bill Mueller rather than Johnny Damon where management will weigh whether or not it's time to move on but I think he'll stay
