    the strikes weren't down the middle but I don't think that was his point. he pretty much threw that at-bat and anyone who has seen even a bit of Manny and knows his ability to see the ball knows he threw that at-bat

    very true, but for every athlete who doesn't deserve the contract he has, there is a Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis, Jonathan Papelbon, Jon Lester, etc. who makes less than he should

    not that im trying to take this thread on a tangent but ive always felt athletes deserve what they make. they are directly responsible for the billions of dollars in revenue professional sports leagues make so why shouldn't they be paid in accordance to the revenue they generate? sorry but 35,000 people don't pay $40 a piece to watch a doctor perform surgery, no matter how much more meaningful the doctor's profession is
