Since you used a reference, no prize. But here's a personal story that goes with it.
A funny story, ( I think ). He was my best friend' dad. Back in those days there were 3 TV channels ( B&W ), we didn't have a radio then, so the first the first time I got invited to go to a game I was thrilled. We drove from Belmont and pulled into the Player's parking lot ( what a thrill and scary experience ). We sat in the first row dead center behind home plate ( I was somewhat bummed, because I knew there was no chance of getting a souvenir with the screens ) . We didn't get a program because my friend Eddie Bressoud Jr. didn't need one. As the game wound down we went into the player's locker room. On the way home, after such an amazing day, in an attempt to make conversation, I asked, So how did you do today ? I assume Mr. Bressoud thought this was somewhat asinine, since I had just watched the game. But he nicely, replied, " I went 2 for 3, with a walk", I replied with my best intentions and limited baseball knowledge and said " That's okay, maybe you'll hit a home run next game " . It seemed like a loooog time before I was invited again.
