I have done all I can to make adjustments for this "original" Super Bowl Grid and the Bonus Grid contests. They are now both closed. But some adjustments were made. The carryover/ bonus square has been eliminated. It is now filled by me ( square 8 & 6 ). This means there be a distinct winner for each prize. In addition, the rest of the 36 members of this board will get a square in the " Bonus Super Bowl Grid " see : http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?p=114220#post114220 We ended up with 53 different members in the grids. Which I think is great. The breakout is : First 25 Entries : Get four squares ( 3 in Original & 1 in the Bonus grid, I'm the exception, I have 4 in the original & none in the Bonus ). Thus they're entered in two grids with almost twice the prizes. The next 12 Entries : get 3 squares ( 2 in Original & 1 in the Bonus grid ). Thus they're entered in two grids with almost twice the prizes.That said, here is the revised grid ( the only thing that has changed is I, SFoC now has the former extra square) : The next 16 Entries : get 4 squares all in the Bonus grid. If you look at scenarios: --One, the original grid was ended, 12 members would have been eliminated, and the 25 would get 4 squares with about half the prizes. Or what I did, and had all were included with 3 squares for the 25, 2 squares for the 12 ( half the prizes now ). Then create a second Grid ( the Bonus ). Unfortunately, these members faced a strong chance of not reaching the required 20, as this grid was at 16. Under the rules this grid would have been cancelled. --Two, I let the original contest run and the same amount of members entered ( 53 ). This would mean 3 members eliminated and the other 50 would have 2 squares and half the prizes. So I think its obvious that the current solution ( although not perfect ) is the most equitable. That's correct. I will take the "carryover/ bonus" extra square in the original grid so that every square is filled. This is as even as I can make it under the circumstances.

In effort to make sure that this grid gets filled, I have closed the grid. The reasons, are that it appears highly unlikely that the grid will be filled by noon tomorrow ( the deadline ). It was suggested to extend the deadline a few hours, this is not feasible to to my time constraints ( Tax Season, having a parties tomorrow for my twins birthday and Super Bowl ) and I doubt that the additional time will matter. Now for the good news. All sixteen members that signed up for the Bonus Super Bowl Grid are in. In addition, to fill out the grid all but one of the 37 members of the original grid are in also. I eliminated myself so the numbers will work. Here's the breakout : --The 16 signed-up for Bonus Grid get 4 squares ............ 16 x 4 = 64 --The 36 in the original pool get 1 square each............... 36 x 1 = 36 ---------Total Squares Filled.......................................... 100 ---------Total Squares Needed....................................... 100

No problem here. I also extend my condolences. The loss of friends and family, certainly dwarfs, any contest , thread or other trivial bull s***. I've lost and buried way too many people. This place is for fun and enjoyment, a chance to get away from the stress and rigors of our daily lives, nothing more.

That's somewhat true. However, these people got screwed without satisfaction. Also, in compensation, they get a better chance a somewhat reduced prizes. All in all, I tried to make it as even as possible. I might be off a little in the mathematical equivalents, however, I'll chalk that up to pain and suffering.
