  9. Hey fellow baseball fans. This is a giveaway of tickets to the World Champion Red Sox. The reason for this is to have fun and celebrate the end of the summer and the start of the Fall. Some of you have questioned my motives. Well it's pretty simple, I've blessed by knowing and gettting help in my younger year's and I try to do the same, when I can. It's a cliche I know, but what goes around comes around. So, here goes : The rules : (1) You Must be a TalkSox member by 8/18/05. (2) You must be able to use the tickets. (3) Make a brief post stating why you should win ( preferred dates in multiple ). (4) You must respond to winner's notification post within 24 hrs by Private Message with your name and address ( we're under somewhat of a time constraint here, I want to make sure tickets get to you and are not wasted ). Otherwise, they will go to someone else in the drawing. The Drawing : The drawing will be random by me. I will make tokens ( name stuck on coins ) and draw from a bowl. I think that the fairest way ( no personalities involved ). I, and my family aren't eligable. Each drawing will have it's own date and cut-off dates. The reason that I say each, is because there will be more than one giveaway. I will try and have some Regional Drawings, so that as many of you can have a chance to benefit. Sorry, Texas and some of the west coast folks, but the remainng schedule will not allow me to accomadate you ( maybe post season or next year ). This is going to be posted in the general Forum of Contests / Prizes. I don't know how to get multiple contest to show on the main page ( if it can be done ). The problem is every time there's a post the other (s) will go back into the general forum and not be seen. I don't want to clog up Talk Sox or the General Baseball threads. So you're going to have to look in the Contests / Prizes for each drawing. Maybe, one of the Mods can pin / sticky this thread as a directive or move as appropiate. Have fun and enjoy. "bump"
  10. Mods please move this thread, it doen't belong here.

  12. Preference ? Roof box, field box, day, night, etc.
  13. Hey guys / gals can I get some feedback on the ticket giveaway ?
  14. Tell me please Aug. or Sept ?
  15. Do you always piss on an angel ? One little typo.
  16. Don't know where yeszir is going or went. But I need someone ( mods ) to run a contest to claim Sox tickets to a game before return of school starts. Obviously, for most of the board it has to be before school / college starts that only leaves a couple of weeks for me to grab tickets and get them to yeszir or to the winner. I'll probably grab from eBay or another site. There would be at least two tickets, at a quality location. Maybe go for weekend, but there's so few days left. I'm open to suggestions. Thought it would be a great way to end the summer. Suggestions, for game and contest, please. One stipulation, you must be a member of Soxtalk. PS : I'm paying and donating the tickets.
  17. Being a baseball forum, sometimes its a bush league.
  18. Only when he feels like it. How many times have we seen a "I'll get to it when I want approach " to playing out there. Don't even quote the assist stats this year ( most are due to Manny's most are due to his attitude as mentioned earlier). At his comphensation ( $ 20 million a year ) I expect a consistent ballplayer. Do you want to compare salary and production to that of Ortiz, where due we get better dollar value. How many days off for David becausebecause he's tired. If he's tired because he's " playing the outfield " then we have a DH at a lot less money and then spend it in more productive overall ways. You're point at Fenway, only applies to half the games and only to balls hit off the Wall, and any compitent outfielder, given time will do as well or better.
  19. I think we all know what we got. A tremendous hitter with a mental defeciency.
  20. Refill it while it's less than $ 3.00 / gal.
  21. Agreed. I just wish he wasn't so damn negative. Maybe if he changes his s/n to Renteria hater we would all have a laugh.
  22. If you're talking about Renteria, you have abosolutely no understanding of baseball and don't deserve any further responses. Not to mention, you seem to post nothing but negatives.
