    What was last year was last year( BTW he pretty much sucked late in the year and in the play-offs ). This year, he' has not produced. His power is discusting for a first basmen/ corner outfielder. Defensively, he's adequate at best at 1st and a heart attack in the outfield. Your logic totally escaoes me, pick on one of our better players ( Renteria ) and support a stiff. We don't really need him next year. We'll get a better PR person for the media, and a comic trainer, 1st, 3rd base coach, or a bench coach.

    Pedroia will get a serious look to make team next year, Tony G. will be resigned, Hanley is a year or two away.

    Possible, but they would have been giving some serious time in the minors. We also used a number 1 pick in the last draft.

    I think you're right. It depends on the negotiations with Damon. If they beleive they can't sign him within their budget constraints, they will form another plan. Perhaps ( and I said perhaps ), trade Manny to Mets ( assuming that Cameron is able to play next year- they won't have Piazza's 17 million ) get Huff , Konerko or both. Dump Millar and bring up the kids for pitching reinforements. Bill M. is gone, Youk's plays third. Net result is still a pretty potent line up and close to equal or better defensively.

    Well it looks like we're on a roll. Even when we're losing, we can't lose ( thanks to a little Divine intevention- which is a good thing ). We're talking Detroit here, not a power house of the league. Let's go Sox !!!!!!!!

    Good choice, he's got the mental disipline. He think h'e going to hang in another 2 to 3 years as a back-up / DH though.
