I like Doug as a back-up, but that has nothing to do with what was being discussed.
  2. I understand the logic. I guess I've stuck Stern in my own classification as the token "speed" guy ( ala Jackson, Saddler, et al ). Basically, I'm totally unimpressed with the guy.

  4. Millar shouldn't be in the outfield at this time of the year unless its an emergency. I'll take Trot's bat ( even against a lefty ) and his defense any day over MIllar. A bad move.
  5. I'm in agreement , with the exception of " some capable bats if we need to PH for the Papi/Manny replacement ". Anyone would be a downgade for those two, but who exactly are you thinking of ? Doug is having a bad year offensively, Penagrine ? ( jury is still out ) , if we're playing our best line-up the really isn't much left.
  6. But that's kind of my point. The Sox didn't fully expend their roster. But most of our opponents did. If its the tying run, we could sorely miss that thunderous bat he replaced if the game does go to extra innings. If it does go to extra innings, then our bench which has been greatly reduced ( its already weak now, due to lack of full call -ups, injury to Gabe, Stern being one dimensional, etc. ) our chances have been greatly reduced. Besides, although he has good raw speed, he is not a proven base stealer ( at least not in the Bigs ).
  7. You're responding to a fictional (banned person- 3 times). Do you think that they're playing this way because they want to ?
  8. Like the BA, don't like the injuries and the salary plus trade. Unless, this is one of those unload salary and take a bag of balls.
  9. Which means you loose up 3 players to use him ( the player you take out, Stern, and a defensive player, if needed ).
  10. Do you think he's a potential fit with the Sox ?
  11. At this time of year, any win is a good win !
  12. I also like Gabe, for a number of reasons. But even with the tremdous effort he'll put into rehab, he won't come back 100%. The nature of that injury will slow him down, its a question of to what extent.
  13. Cowboys have a decent shot at the play-offs, I don't thinks the Skins are going anywhere but home. But I've been wrong before.
  14. Welcome. But try in post in the correct forum. This belongs in Introduce yourself forum.
