  1. Why the f*** is Nick Punto on this team?
  2. Lets not give up on Buccholz just yet. Might be a blessing in disguise, bullpen duty in the future....might be just what we need back there.
  3. When he made the change to closer, he was 32 and had been a starting pitcher for 12 years. Are you really going to argue that he was only known for a closer for 4-5 years? What else is he known for? Not starting, thats for sure.
  4. Shoppach looked awful on all three of those pitches.
  5. Offense looks good again...
  6. Not sure I understand this back and forth. I think Dojji is putting Larussa and the A's down.....meanwhile mvp78 is making a sarcastic comment..... Dojji, you know that Larussa won 3 WS and is third all time in wins right?
  7. I love the Pats pretty much more than anything in the world haha. They are my escape from reality. Talkpats has just been so slow, its hard to have regular conversation over there when there are only a few people posting. Every year it starts up pretty strong, and fizzles by the end.
  8. So did Jose Lima.
  9. So s***** starters are better than elite closers? Not saying Bard is s*****, but thats a terrible argument. Mariano Rivera. Dennis Eckersley....... All closers or relievers.....are not starters, because they were not very good at it. Bard is a work in progress.
  10. Chart. I also propose a new addition to the chart, comparing a healthy Sox player to an injured Yankees player.
  11. 10-10 Is ahead of where I thought they could be right now. Not bad.
  12. Foulke blew out his arm and sacrificed his career en route to winning us a WS. Let me know when Crawford ever contributes anything. Foulke did was he was brought in to do. Nail down games and win a WS.
  13. Foulke was not so-so. He was one of the best PITCHERS available at the time and he was absolutely dominant for us in 2004 at the expense of the rest of his career. What does it matter about Theo anyway? Dan Duquette built the 2003 and 2004 Redsox teams which laid the foundation for any of the success that Theo had. He was given little to work with and got the most out of his players in a time when the Sox had to dumpster dive for other teams spare parts/misfit toys. After the new management came in, they fired Duke and gave Theo unlimited funds to work with.....and he managed to sign s***** players to some of the worst deals in baseball history.
  14. Go BRUINS!!!! I mean Redsox....
  15. GAME 7!!
  16. Hes made 62+ for 4 straight years.
  17. Listen.....I have real life stuff going on to update that every time he does unbelievably awesome!!!
  18. Something that I thought I would throw out there..... We are getting solid production between Sweeney and Ross right now, and Byrd doubled his hit total for the year in 2 games.....with Ellsbury and Crawford on the mend, would anyone like to see them bring in Vlad Guerrero as a RH bat off the bench? He isnt playing for anyone right now, so hed probably be pretty cheap, a million or less. Just a suggestion a as a RH bench bat only, since he has not been able to play a position for almost 3 years now. Dmac serves no purpose on this team and there is no use for Thomas or Anderson on the roster. Is carrying a bat of the bench less important than those guys?
  19. Optimism is that the Sox should be able to put together a nice little run with these cupcakes lined up. Right now, we are 6-10. Win tomorrow, and bring us to 7-10 Whitesox....split that series 2-2, to make us 9-12. Oakland.....win that series 2-1, to bring us to 11-13. Baltimore...win that series 2-1, to bring us to 13-14. KC Royals..win that series 2-1, which will put us at 15-15. CLE Guardians..win that series 3-1, and make us 18-16 on May 13th. May 13th, 2012......we will be 18-16.
  20. How about you shut your mouth and just do what you are told to do? You are an employee here for 3 more years. If you dont like your role at that time, sign somewhere else.
  21. We wont get anything if teams know that he is going to opt out.
  22. Who is going to the rotation? Cook? I seriously doubt Bard goes to the bullpen. What does Bard's contract situation look like? They need to be careful with his psyche, otherwise they will lose him mentally and physically when he demands a trade so he can start.
