That does not change who you are. Experience has nothing to do with affecting your psyche. He is great in KC, he is great in MIL......he will be a basket case in Boston. Coming from someone who studied it, he has no shot in Boston. Rangers getting him and winning the world series has nothing to do with the fact that he would fail in Boston.

A couple years ago the Sox were inquiring about him when he was on the trade block with KC. They backed off when it was decided he didn't have the psyche to play in this market. No thanks, stay away.

Getting Ellsbury and Crawford back will be huge. The speed and defense they add will be HUGE additions. Picture this......picture that they give us no difference offensively from Nava/Kalish/Sweeney. If they are exactly the same as those guys production wise, they are still improvements on the bases, small ball and defensively. Morales in the rotation, Bailey back in the pen....and Melancon building confidence will round out the pitching staff. If it comes down to Morales or Dice-K, trade Dice-K and eat some salary....or DFA him. The Sox are working with Jenks on a buyout of his contract. He will never wear a Sox uniform again.

Bard wanted this. In fact, when they attempted to use him as a reliever earlier in the year, he made sure to point out that he is still a starter, and wanted to remain a starter. They had to let Bard fail to such epic proportions to get the idea of him as a starter out of his head. Many of us said it before the season started. Hes not a starter, hes not a closer....he was a MR all along.

Hasnt Dice-K pretty much proven himself not worthy his entire time here (minus 1 year)??? The guy is gone anyway after this season.....DFA him and eat the remaining 4M. He serves no purpose if everyone in the rotation is a better option and he cant pitch from the pen.

Well, then we are screwed. Beckett has been a bonafide ace arguably 2, maybe 3 times in his entire career. An ace is an ace, year after year. Beckett is an ace once every 4 years.....hes a number 3 starter. -

I would say 100% no. Id be surprised if they did anything to add. I could actually see them trading Ross/Nava/Sweeney/Salty/Dice-K or anyone in their bullpen for a couple prospects to a contending team. -

It hasn't been since day 1 this past off season. I hope they win, but pretty much this is what I expected minus Salty being a surprise thus far. The trade deadline will tell us where the FO's state of mind is. I haven't been to a game in 1 1/2 years.....after going to at least 5 or 6 a year since 1992. I just cant bring myself to spending the money there.

If this is Gonzalez's problem (which is most likely not) then we are screwed for the life of the contract. Fragile psyche's dont last here. Gonzalez's problems are physical. Hes not making adjustments.

Well, at the very least....this allows Franklin Morales to get a couple more starts. By the time Buchholz is back, Beckett will be ready to take another turn on the DL with blisters...so at a minimum, Morales will get 4 more starts.

Youk had to go, and we all knew the Sox weren't going to get anything of value for him. Whats the big deal. The fact that we got 2 crappy players is better than 1. I pretty much expected them to give him away AND us have to pay the remainder of the deal.
