  1. Why would you let Tazawa go? He is the second best arm we have in the pen.
  2. Think about what you just said. You said he is 28, and hasn't played 600 career games. There is a reason for that, someone out there didn't think he was good enough. If they want to extend him, offer him a 1 year deal. Anything longer than that, no way.
  3. .340 OBP is not very good when you are hitting 14 home runs and striking out 155 times in the middle of the lineup.
  4. He is still Salty......he is playing above his talent level this year. Hes been pretty good, but he is not worth a 3 year extension, and hes NOWHERE near being a 15M a year player as someone suggested earlier. Let him walk, get a real defensive catcher and replace the offense somewhere else.
  5. Let salty walk. There are plenty of other catchers out there who cant catch, throw, run, hit or hit for power.
  6. What does Lou Brock have to do with a 100M dollar contract?
  7. If Napoli continues to suck, I'd like to see more of Carp or Middlebrooks at 1B. Drew is still a valuable asset at SS. Bring Bogaerts up to play 3B with WMB and Carp at 1B.
  8. According to Dojji and others, we don't need megathreads...... Just think about it, an organized forum....who would ever want that? Id rather have a clusterf*** every time I log in.
  9. Is Mike Napoli starting to play himelf out of the lineup? He doesn't hit for enough power or get on base enough to equal out all the strikeouts and s***** at bats in the middle of the lineup. Are they better off with a rotation of Carp, Nava and Gomes between 1B and LF rather than having Napoli in the lineup everyday at 1B?
  10. No, creating random stupid threads sucks, especially if there is already a thread that can be added to. Threads like, "Ellsbury took a 2 lb. s*** today", "Holy crap, Napoli didn't strike out today" and "Salty is heating up" are f***ing stupid.
  11. Nothing was more embarrassing than John Goodman in "The Babe". John Goodman was twice the size of Ruth at his biggest, and Goodman was a natural righty. He looked absolutely pathetic portraying the greatest baseball player of all time.
  12. No. The Marlins are not going to trade him. Pittsburgh offered them a great deal and the Marlins declined. Boston would have to deal 4 or 5 of their top prospects, the major ones included. I don't think any 1 player is worth that much.
  13. Pedroia also earned his contract and loves playing in Boston. Ellsbury's main asset will diminish with age......plus, what has Ellsbury done to earn such a huge contract?
  14. Ellsbury will not be here next season. Time to start getting over it now.... I am dead against any contract to someone 30 years old for 100 million........havent we learned from our, and everyone elses mistakes?
  15. I asked Yeszir about creating "player performace" threads like they have at nyyfans.com.......I think that would eliminate alot of the "crap" on this site.
  16. .....again, Teixeira was the right move at the time. He was a monster in his FA year. It didnt work out well for the Yanks, but at the time, he was the right move for the Sox. Again, hindsight is a beautiful thing.
  17. Are we really bitching about Jonny Gomes? I think hes been pretty solid, and he looks like a huge clubhouse guy, something that was HUGELY missed the last 3 years. Gomes has been a great addition IMO......and I dont care if he doesn't get a single hit the rest of the season.
  18. If you were done with it, you wouldn't have brought it up 5 years later. At the time, the right move was to sign Teixeira. Hindsight is a beautiful thing.
  19. Gonzalez was Iglesias, X2......he was at least serviceable with the bat and had a little pop. (sorry for the triple post)
  20. No, they have all been stop gaps or unproductive (or injured).
  21. Oh, I see you still think he is a big league starter......and yes it does, he was not the answer at SS, so he was traded.....because there were better internal and current options.
  22. Well, I called that one. Jose Iglesias......is not the SS of the future....
  23. No @ 6/90 to a 29 year old lead-off hitter with a skill that diminishes with age. If he hit with some power, maybe......but he is a 10HR guy, not a 32 HR guy circa 2011.
  24. Offer 5/75. If he wants more, let him walk.
  25. Iglesias sucks. Salty sucks. Iglesias will never be a starting MLB SS, Salty should not be a starting MLB catcher.........and Josh Beckett is still an *******. I smile when I check up on the Dodgers....
