  1. Was it "boneheaded" of him to hit 3 singles tonight? Because you bitched about those too. I'm not buying this excuse.
  2. Nope. The stars at night, are big and bright.....
  3. We have plenty of those too. It's lonely in the middle.
  4. You know what this place needs? A couple of more old guys who bitch incessantly. That would be swell.
  5. Try the hemlock...please.
  6. Mike Lowell converted 70% of the balls hit into the 3B zone into outs last year. Adrian Beltre is converting 77% of the balls hit into the 3B zone into outs this year.
  7. Jesus, Gameday had that about 8" off the plate.
  8. Nobody is arguing that Mike Lowell doesn't have surer hands. The problem is he can't move very well. Beltre kills him in range, so while Beltre will botch more plays, he'll stop significantly more that Lowell doesn't touch.
  9. This isn't an answer. What's more likely?
  10. Not true. What's more likely? Lowell gaining range post-surgery and at advanced age, or Beltre playing it cleaner in the field? He's a .956 career fielder playing to a .926 before tonight's game. Lowell is a statue and that isn't changing. If you put the statue in, you give up the possibility to improve, and that's losing something.
  11. Believe it or not, life goes on if they miss the playoffs, and the management team has shown they know this.
  12. This post is almost as annoying to read, not for content but for style, as 13 y/o girls that tYpE lIkE tHiS.
  13. I agree, a700. They aren't going to get any team to take either of those two off their hands while paying full freight. And, I too am skeptical that they'd sink $35M on DH for the season. Their big bat upgrade will be when Ortiz starts hitting.
  14. "Very"? Hardly. They made a tweak to account for unique park configuration effects, and they resulted with, according to the article, one player with significant result change. This is one player out of 180 starting outfielders, and it occurred for the fielder patrolling the most unique field in all parks (LF at Fenway). Very is far too strong a word.
  15. I can understand lament for not having "more experienced" backups when/if the replacement backup plays like the scrub you call him. When he doesn't, seems like a good time to just enjoy it. For whatever reason, you are apparently unable to do this, and you bitch about him being on the team, even while he's performing. It's misplaced. This is what I think you are being called on, and, quite frankly, it's deserved.
  16. Twit. Google "UZR" and "Fenway". This has been a topic of discussion for years. This isn't news.
  17. Nice try. If this were the case, I'm sure a giant like Clear Channel would have scooped it up by now. Parse away all you want, but it's a giant money maker, and it's not for sale.
  18. MLB retains exclusive streaming rights (both audio and video) of the league's games. While you are right in that WEEI doesn't have those rights, you are wrong in suggesting that they could have them if they paid MLB. It isn't for sale.
  19. Cleanest save of the year.
  20. He's already thrown 117 pitches, and it's April. Think about it.
  21. Jesus, Marcum is getting a ridiculous strikezone so far.
