  1. Szmardzja (sp?) is a stud. That was a hell of a catch. I was just looking at their schedules. If ND can play these first 5 games clean, they should coast into the finale at USC. I don't see anyone on USC's schedule being tough for them to beat until that game. It would be a treat to have two undefeateds playing in November. BTW, my buddy at work gave me an Excel file with the schedules for every Div I team by conference with a tab for key games of each week. It's nothing special, but it's pretty nicely put together and beats browsing to a sports website. I would upload it, but the Excel file size limitation for this site is 1 kb -- freaking small -- and this thing is 1.7 Mb. If anyone wants it, PM me your email address and I'll send it. NOTE: It may take awhile since my ISP is having technical issues in the area today and when I've been able to browse it's been slow as hell.
  2. Yep. They could be in for a 6 or 7 loss season in that conference. OSU, PSU, Mich, Mich St., and Wisconsin.....fuhgeddaboutit. ND got a break on the bobbled snap. PSU needs to keep the pressure on Quinn because he's picking them apart when they drop back.
  3. What about this one.... Rutgers - 33 Illinois - 0 that's right, zero. The sportswriters with a column down here in Florida will have a field day on Zook tomorrow.
  4. Hokies looked like crap today. Ignore the scoreboard. UNC QB's threw some gimmie picks that lead to 14 pts. VTech was unable to move the ball very effectively against a lack-luster defense. The D and ST are, as usual, very impressive, but they'll need more out of the QB position to beat good teams. ND vs. PSU about to start, anyone watching?
  5. Coming back w/o a contract is evidence of a hissy-fit? Now you are really reaching. Was the way things went down good for the organization? No, it certainly wasn't and I take no issue with that. I just don't think it was a hissy. They negotiated, failed to come to terms -- autonomy not money, so he walked. Happens every day. Damon did it. Was his signing with the Yankees a hissy? Suppose he verbally agreed to the Yankee offer, the Sox realized they were about to lose something they needed and changed their offer, and Damon came back. Would that be a hissy?
  6. Alex Gonzalez is really fun to watch in the field. Lowell too.
  7. This couldn't be further from the truth, and I think it speaks volumes about your bias against him. There was a power struggle at the time of his departure. He didn't like the faction that favored the idea of trading prospects once they started to show value -- i.e. Lucchino. He took advantage of his situation and acted like what he was, a Free Agent. It wasn't a hissy. It was a power play, and he won to a degree because he came back with more say in personnel moves. He had leverage and used it, like everyone in every walk of life does. Judge his moves from here to Christmas, but I don't think you can honestly find fault with him here.
  8. Odalis K's the side. Plenty of holes to fill, but someone who can hit lefties would be nice.
  9. Mojo appreciation is at an all-time low. What's next? Dogs and cats playing together? It'll be anarchy.
  10. QB - Delhomme, Simms RB - Alexander, Jackson, Taylor WR - Chambers, Mi. Clayton, Br. Edwards, A. Bryant, D. Boston TE - H. Miller, D. Clark K - Brown DEF - Pittsburg, Atlanta
  11. Come on now, ATG. s***ing on your parade? You guys coming on a Sox board to gloat over your victory is taking a big steaming dump in our living room. I can tolerate it, but be real about it.
  12. More faith? What does that have to do with anything? Don't get me wrong, I want the team to win, and I root for them to win no matter who is on the roster (and I'll buy either the EI package or mlb.tv no matter how bad they look going into the year), but that doesn't mean I have to stop using my head in regards to personnel moves. Given the way they've played lately and the players they have nursing injuries/serious health issues, only a great fool -- i.e. a "fanboy" -- thinks they have a legit shot at the postseason. And, that's just making the postseason, forget about winning a series.
  13. I can appreciate your "never say die" mentality, but that doesn't make it right. This team is brutally flawed. 28 left to play and 6.5 out of the WC? They'd have to go 21-7......and still hope both the CWS and Twins played .500 or worse ball. Possible? Yes. Likely? Not in a million years, even with Wells.
  14. Another Hokie fan? Go nutless turkeys! The Hampton/Norfolk/Tidewater area is the most underrated pool of football talent, and Beamer owns it. They just reload with skill position talent. They'll be good on both sides of the ball, they'll get after it on ST, and they'll be fast, but they won't make a BCS game this year. The U in Miami? That's going to be an interesting game, but I don't like their chances down there. At BC? Could go either way. And, I think GTech opens some eyes this year, including a win in Blacksburg. This is an interesting year for NCAA FB. I really don't see anyone playing the regular season clean, and I think it's very possible to have 6-7 1-loss teams with a legit claim to the title game. The BCS rant will be strong this year, I think. I can only hope it's strong enough to institute change.
  15. You all enjoy this as the Lizard King leads the team in a sweep of the Jays this weekend. I'll be up that way in VT attending a wedding, but I'm not bringing my laptop.
  16. RSR is the Lizard King.
  17. Blinky had it timed after 7 straight heaters. A split would have been nice there.
  18. Great play in the hole by Cora. The D showed up the last two innings.
  19. I apologize for my angst for you earlier, Kappy. Heckuva play. Might as well go out with a bang.
  20. Slick stuff from the kid.
  21. Rios had it lined up at the edge of the track, about 10-12 feet from the wall, it hit his glove, bounced out, he stabbed at it with his bare hand and knocked it into the stands.
  22. Are you watching or following on gameday?
